Firkin on the Bay

I absolutely enjoyed this location. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the view of the Lakefront. The food was amazing. The service was great, a little slow, but it was busy so I understand. I would definitely go back.

Great spot with good food! It has the charm of a classic English pub but with plenty of room, so it doesn’t feel cramped. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxed and spacious place to enjoy!

My experience was extremely funny. We didn't have to wait long to get a seat even though the restaurant was extremely busy. We got a seat right away and even got our menu.nnIt took 15 mins for someone to get our drinks order and the next 20 mins to get the drinks. I remembered the 2 tables behind me complaining about waiting on their bill. One group was threatening to walk out, and I got the waitresses attention and asked her to attend to them.nnWhile she was acknowledging the one group, the other group of 5 walked right out. All of this was going on while we waited for our food. We waited 45 mins to get our food. There was a lot of staff, but it seems like they had no idea how to multi task .

I've tried Frikin on the Bay a couple of times. This time, it was super obvious that they have many staff members, all seemingly working hard, but probably very poor management. Everyone had a tablet hanging from their shoulder and was walking super fast. It took them maybe 20 minutes to even ask if we had placed our order or to bring the menu.nnWe had to stand up and go after some staff, and they seemed to only care about the area they were assigned to, totally ignoring the other areas. Management was busy but very disoriented. The place was not necessarily packed or super busy, but it still took them too long for us to order.nnThe meal was good, though. I got the cheeseburger, and the onion rings were very crispy. The side salad portion could be bigger, but it was tasty. Last time, I tried their wings. They were not very delicious or crispy at all. The sauces were pretty hot, and I like spicy food, but it was just hot without much taste, besides being hot.nnI'd give them a 1 for service, a 3 for wings, and a 4/5 for the burger. It's a nice place and it's open till late, so it's good to have it nearby. They just need to manage their team better and make it more efficient. They definitely don't need more people, just make the staff work more efficiently.

I have always enjoyed visiting Firkin on the Bay, especially since it is in my neighbourhood, but I've noticed a decline in both customer service and the quality of food and drinks. During our recent visit on a Saturday night, we ordered sangria, which unfortunately did not meet our expectations. The drink lacked any fruit, and more than half of it was filled with ice, leaving it quite bland.nnAdditionally, we had an unpleasant experience with the server who attended to us on the patio—a very tall lady—who seemed frustrated when we chose not to order food. I regret that I didn't catch her name. I hope this feedback helps improve the overall experience for future guests.
