Overall pretty good. Big portions, lots of menu options and good flavours. Tried both versions of the Chilli Chicken, wasn't as good as I had hoped, and the Crispy Ginger Beef was surprisingly too sweet. But the Red Hot Garlic Chicken was really good, as was the Ho-Fun Noodles with Beef very similar to Pad Sew.
@dineintoronto on tiktok & insta for more food recommendations. I got the special leg and fried rice. I absolutely loved it, the fried rice were delicious and the chicken was cooked well. I can’t wait to order from here I highly recommend. I ordered it off Uber eats and the service was very quick.
I ordered one dish and they said 20 mins. I came back after more than 30 Mins. They said not ready. I asked how long. They responded loudly & rudely and the response was wait, will bring whenever it is ready and don’t ask. I said then cancel the order and refund my money. They refused but when I insisted they did but did not give me a cancelled receipt. Not going there anymore. Horrible. Never had this sort of an experience before at any restaurant. This is an industry where customer service is supposed to be prime.
Quality of food is getting worse. Schezuan calamari was very tough and the batter on it tasted old. Shanghai noodles lacks flavour, just tastes like oily chilli flakes.
A hidden gem in all of Durham! This place has fantastic food and great-sized portions. The menu is comprehensive and the location is accessible with plenty of parking. I live about 25 minutes away from this place so by the time I reach this location my food is ready for pick up. It is also available through Skip The Dishes but I live outside of the delivery zone now. Nevertheless, this does not stop me and my family from ordering 2-3 items on any given day. Recommend the Jerk Chicken rice or noodle dishes!
Overall good experience most of the time. At times chicken bit overcooked and extra pine apple only a few pieces is too much money around $3 or $4. Rest I have been going here for 6 years and will continue to go General Tao chicken, shrimp fried rice, sweet n sour fish, haka vegetable noodle are recommended
The lady and the man at the front counter were really rude. We were with a baby the man kept telling us how to hold our baby and how to keep him with us even though the baby was doing nothing just standing at one place. He kept staring at the baby and giving us looks while we were ordering and eating.. he didn’t want us to dine as well he kept asking us if you you can do takeout do takeout with your baby. The food was good but they need to learn how to treat customers, because we spent over 70$ on the food.
On November 30, I called to place an large order and because I was driving I asked the gentleman that was taken the order a few questions. He told me that I should read the menu after I told him I was driving. He hung up the phone on me. So I went in and placed the order and I got a lecture about talking about driving. He was so loud and rude so I phoned and spoke to the manager the next day but nothing was done. I will never go back there. I would recommend to everyone to go to Caribbean Queen on thickson Rd. There customer service is a whole lot better and there food is too.
When I moved to Durham, 2 years ago, this was the first Hakka spot I went to. It was ok. I used to eat here about once a week because it was close to my home. Food was never the greatest, but it was a convenience in my neighbourhood. Picked up 5 dishes yesterday and paid almost $90 and my whole family had stomach problems for the whole night. Chicken was dry to the point where it was just like chewing on a dry super well done steak. Rice and noodles were terrible with gamey chicken and their pakora was so over done that it turned to dust when you went to take a bite. On top of all that, they now have a conditional pass from the city. I’m probably never gonna go back here again. They aren’t the friendliest either.
Not the best place for Hakka food. We got the Hakka dinner for 2 as well as chicken Hakka noodles and the Green Thai Curry. The beef was great but the chicken dishes were not cooked properly. However, the staff are super friendly.
