Financial One Credit Union

I've never been to the Coon Rapids location, but this review is in place for the FANTASTIC A+++ customer service that (specifically) Stephanie B. had provided me. I just switched over to Financial One and had a million questions. Instead of calling, I figured I can just e-mail them since it'll be more convenient for me. Got my loan refinanced, which was fantastic. Stephanie has been going out of her way to answer each and every single one of my questions to the best of her knowledge (and even added EXTRAAA details). Also, she responded back to one of my e-mails during non-business hours. I don't know anyone who is that dedicated, I'd hate to admit it, but I never check my e-mail during non-business hours. I would highly recommend Stephanie. She knows what she is talking about, VERY informative, and oh... did I mention that she's incredibly prompt with her response as well? At this point, I am thinking about fully switching my entire banking over to Financial One. It's a bummer that they don't have a location in Brooklyn Park, though. :( I love you, Stephanie B.!

A lapse in insurance coverage for a vehicle loan through Financial One prompted a phone call (I didn't sign any paperwork) which was considerate and appreciated. However, what followed is why there is such a low rating. During the phone call I was told that due to the coverage lapse Financial one would put a force placed policy on my vehicle, and it would increase my payment to "X" amount. I in turn replied something to the sort of, "that isn't much more than what I was paying for my full coverage through my previous provider. Let's just add that on and I can bundle the payments." Now this 'coverage' wasn't properly explained to me. I understand that its technically my fault because I didn't read the letter they sent over to an address I was no longer at, and I trusted them to steer me in the right direction. At what point do you let your customer know that this isn't actually covering you or anyone for that matter if I was involved in an accident? This 'coverage' went for over a year. The only reason I came to realize this is because I went in to inquire about my policy number and provider to renew my tabs. If I hadn't gone in this could have kept going for who knows how long. The end result is Financial One telling me its my fault and it is what it is. They didn't have my best interest in mind and due to that there was a miscommunication for insurance which wasted A LOT of money. I'm sure they are fine to work with 99% of the time, this is just my one experience with this bank.

Easily the best financial institution I have ever been apart of! All my business loans and personal loans have gone through them for the last 4 years. Lacey, makes banking easy and painless, with top notch customer service!
