This was a super cool place and highly recommended the house tour. Our house tour guide Craig, he was super awesome and loved that he was in a period time uniform. It just added to the whole experience. I wish other staff members were dressed the same. The reason I kept it from 5 stars was I was a bit disappointed in the gift shop. There wasn't much field of dreams items and to meet that's the main attraction and there should be many items relating to the movie and period time clothing that the ball players wore. They do ask for a $20 dollar donation. They should have stuff that says " if you build he will come" or have some of the other famous quotes on clothing with the baseball diamond in the background, have other souvenirs that relate to the movie and not just all clothes that's baseball team related.
Visited the field on a week day with friends, was surprised with the decent amount of visitors. When you pull off the road, there is a booth asking for donations as you pull into park. The field was open and we checked it all out. We did in advance buy tickets for the house tour. Was the longest tour of the smallest space I have ever been on, but the tour guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the information he was sharing. Gift shop is a newer building with a variety of options. Can knock out everything out in around an hour.
We just returned home from a trip to Field of Dreams. What a great experience! Don't delay taking your children there for some long lasting memories. You will get chills when the nostalgic ball players walk out of corn field into the outfield.
If you are a baseball fan or even if you are not, The Field of Dreams is a wonderful place. Just driving up the road you can probably hear "if you build it." Just seeing the ballfield carved out of the Iowa cornfield was amazing but walking on the field and playing catch with other visitors was amazing. I also chose to do the house tour which was awesome. While I have seen the movie many, many times out guide told us a number of interesting facts about the movie and the scenes that were filmed here. It was one of the best tours that I have ever had. I did buy my ticket for the house tour well in advance which is advisable because the number of people permitted on each tour is limited and tours do fill up very quickly. I totally enjoyed my visit to the Field of Dreams. I really felt like a kid again. Wonderful experience.
Love it! It is awesome! The kids actually get a chance to hit a ball on the field. The grounds are well kept. People are good there. There is a cost to get into the house, but to get on the grounds it’s feee. They take donations if you want to. Well worth the donation.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entryFree
Very neat and well-kept. The tour of the house was fantastic, and the tour guide had several anecdotes that were very interesting about the property, and the weather couldn't have been better. Definitely a stop I'd recommend to anyone who has seen and enjoyed the movie
I simply have no words; stunning! How did I almost miss this during my travels? You MUST stop or make a detour. Beautifully maintained and the gift shop is a must stop. The very best graphic designs! All my purchases get softer and more comfy with wear.
Just after an MLB game a week later, folks were playing on the field, great gift shop. Just a great stop. However, you should go before it gets completely commercial, which is coming. The entry price is per car, donation, currently.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
Such an incredible experience seeing my grown sons having a catch with their dad on this field. Iowa was truly heaven that day. Beautifully maintained. Kind workers. Truly wonderful. Sadly too early for corn.
Ive been a baseball fan/player since my youth, this was a bucket list experience. Loved the movie since I first saw it, and seeing the actual cornfield, ball field and home where they made Field of Dreams was nostalgic. Highly recommend to anyone who loved the movie, and loves basebal.
