Loved this restaurant! We ordered the charcuterie board, smoked duck, and a few other dishes, and everything was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent as well.nnMy mom doesn’t speak English, and our server was incredibly kind and patient with her. I can’t remember her name, but she had curly hair and made us feel very welcome throughout the evening.nnIt’s definitely on the pricier side, but the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the service make it worth it. If you’re looking to treat yourself to a special meal, I highly recommend it!
Do not order the mixed grill. We got recommended by our server the mixed grill and thought it would be nice to try a variety of meat. The flank steak was a little dry and not flavourful at all, pork was also a little overcooked and dry, I feel like they recommended this dish to get rid of the cheap cuts of meat faster and it’s definitely not worth $56.nnOn the other hand, the rib steak is very good, it’s fatty and tender and flavourful, definitely would recommend it if you would like to splurge a little on a high quality steak. The mushroom and sticky pudding are also nice, just a bit pricey for what it’s worth.
Fat Rabbit has been on my list of restaurants to try since forever and my goodness it was really worth the wait for me!nnI don’t even know where to start - I don’t even know how to put into words of how GOOD, AMAZING, SPLENDID, SPECTACULAR, and all the praise that anyone can think of to describe every dish that we were served that day.nnThe squid - even though it the cut was thicker than what I am used to, it was soooooo juicy. I kid you not, I don’t even know that squid can be juicy! The scallion dip it came with - I feel like I can eat it with bread everyday because of how dynamic its flavour profile is!nnThe cod croquettes - it had the perfect saltiness to go with the sweetness/tanginess of the creamed corn and I believe the crisp was there for perfection. I am not a person who orders fish but I feel like this changed my outlook in life! I foresee myself trying more fish dishes just because of this experience.nnPorterhouse - this was a 1.9 lb steak if I recall correctly and the decision to order this was because a lot of reviews rave about their butcher cuts and perfect cook of their steak. They were not exaggerating! First thing out of my mouth after devouring a slice of that perfectly cooked steak was “I AM IN LOVE” It wasn’t oily at all which is something that not all places can do, the cook was perfect, and the salt on top was just right!nnSmokehouse burger - you can actually taste the smokiness! Which not all dishes with “smoke” or “smoked” can achieve lol the patty was so juicy and again not oily at all! What magic are they doing in the kitchen that their dishes don’t seem to be cooked in oil at all? And the fries! Perfectly crispy! Though it was a bit too salty for my taste but the garlic mayo it came with was heaven so I just devoured them anyway haha!nnSticky Toffee Pudding - my friend loves dessert while I don’t really order any when dining out. But this one is a winner in my books - I told them this is something that I will be going back for when I am in the mood for dessert! The ice cream on top was creamy with a bit of salt that was complimentary to the sweetness of the whole thing! I thought that the sauce below would be so sweet but it was just rightnnEvery dish that was served was perfect in each of their own way. Service and atmosphere were superb! Everyone was so friendly and smiling even though they were so busy.nnTheir own parking is a bit limited but there is a parking lot across that I believe is a paid lot. There are other parking areas that is a bit far mix of paid and free street parking.nnI am already planning my next visit! Fat Rabbit definitely deserves all the praise! I am excited to see what they do next
My partner and I visited Fat Rabbit on Saturday night. The service from Mike was absolutely on point he was friendly, incredibly helpful, and truly elevated our evening.nnThe food itself was exceptional. My pork chop was cooked to perfection, the asparagus was awesome, and my partner’s salad was fresh and delicious. I also loved their focus on showcasing local meat and wines.nnThat being said, the fine-dining à la carte system was a bit of a surprise. The meat is priced by the pound, and every component comes out on its own separate dish. The plates themselves didn't quite match the high-end quality of the food. Additionally, the patio is situated in a parking lot, which doesn't offer the best ambiance for the price point.nnOur bill came to $175 including tip and a dog treat bag, but no alcohol, which felt a bit steep given the setting. However, the kitchen crew is undeniably talented, I even stopped by to thank the chef on my way out. I’ll definitely be back to try the burger, which looked incredible!
Fat Rabbit is easily one of the best dining experiences around. The food is creative, beautifully executed, and packed with flavour, while still feeling approachable. Every dish is thoughtfully put together, and you can tell the team genuinely cares about quality and consistency. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. Highly recommend.
