Farm boy used to be a good chain. The packaged kebabs are 2 days old sitting in the case then packaged for you to eat. The donuts which used to be fresh daily, we didn’t even notice the date 3 days old so gross. The “cruffies” 2 days old and stale? I understand cost savings but this level of quality just reduces your customer portfolio to go to fortinos which never puts costs ahead of their reputation. Shame on you, this store used to be great but yet another Sobeys chain downhill.
I ordered a re-heatable meal and maybe I misunderstood this meal but ALL INSTRUCTIONS say REheat. BUT nothing is cooked. I’m confused.nAfter 15 mins in the oven the pork is NOT cooked and the flattened chicken on the BBQ is NOT cooked after 15 mins on the BBQ. It turned out to be a hour ordeal. I ordered this to have an easy dinner but while everyone was waiting for their food I was cooking not re-heating a few things in the oven...nI WAS VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. It does fed a lot of people - we were 6 adults and 2 small children and still had a couple of things left over but not much.nI love farmboy and their product this is why the 2 star instead of 1 but this is not as advertised.nnI could of shopped inside the store and made this from my grocery list and paid half the price. The only thing that I'm not sure I could of bought off the shelf was caramelized onion jam - I believe the reheat meals are a ripoff.
We enjoy the take out counter where you can buy pizza and stir fry. We have not tried the other take out items. The stir fry is quite good and you can select the items you want along with the type of stir fry sauce. One comment is that they have reduced the variety of vegetables. They use to have a few other selections. We also like the hot buffet selection but you have to buy it early before it dries out and sometimes we go too late in the afternoon and there is not much left to choose from. Overall this is a nice grocery store with a bit higher prices but most of the products are unique or higher quality than other grocery stores. We don't buy all our groceries here because of the higher prices so we buy our staple items at another store.
Nice clean store. Great produce and comparable prices on some items. The Farm Boy brand snacks are decent too.
Great place to pick up specialty foods.nThey make a great tourtiere.
