Truly a special place! A singular and whimsical experience. I’ve gone with my best friend twice, and each visit we are left smiling and laughing from how flavorful and thought out the food is. You can tell how passionate the staff are about what they’re creating and the experience they’re crafting for diners. Cassandra is incredible and I’m excited to visit again and again and again! :
Absolutely Delicious! Highly recommend the Saag Paneer and Strawberry Shortcake, as they were our favorite if the many dishes we tried. I did the $50 tasting menu, which was well worth the menu as the portions are full plates not tasting size, though I think I could have shared it with my partner as it was A LOT of food. The cheese that were used were all homemade and you could taste the quality. Great date night spot and awesome patio dining area! Vegetarian options: 100% Vegan farm to table restaurant
Hands down the best vegan restaurant I’ve visited. Love this place. Their breakfast and dinners are absolutely amazing ! Love the chef dining experience. I’ve been to at least five of those and every time it was such a memorable dinners ! Also , I chose this place as a farewell dinner with a lot of my friends before moving from Chicago and everyone loved it! I just wish there was Fancy Plants in Denver
This place is so nice! This was our first time dining here and it was such an amazing experience. Everyone that works here is so nice and sweet! We tried the tasting menu and it was such a nice pace for the meal. Every single thing we ate was delicious! Bonus, the menu changes daily so we will be back to try more yummy foods!
3.5 Stars. Attended the Avant Garden: Vegan Molecular Gastronomy Dinner. Was a bit confused that the restaurant was also open to any diner vs just for the Chef’s dinner. The dinner started 1 hour late, which I find inconsiderate of diners time and should not have taken 3 hours for 5 courses, I’m assuming limited staff and non prepped or slow cooking were the issues. The regular menu diners next to me were served and finished by the time I had my second course, they said their meal was good. Interesting vegan preparations of classic meat plates, some hit like the tamale and raspberry poke others did not. I thought the wine per glass was a short pour and of course waiting an extra hour to event start “made” me have more than I would have with dinner. Accessible rest area, any person restroom with no lock on door had a man at the urinal when I came out of the enclosed toilet :/. Looks like a nice side patio, weather permitting. Brief 1.5 Happy Hour.
Fancy Plants was an amazing surprise. The food was unbelievably tasty and beautiful. The service was outstanding too. I am not vegan but would definitely come back to try more dishes.
Delicious, creative dishes that were artfully arranged. Beautiful interior dining room and a lovely outdoor dining area. Welcoming staff. Excellent wine list. Highly recommend this plant-based dining experience!
Fancy plants kitchen is a must visit spot for vegans and vegetarians or anyone looking for vegan food in the Chicagoland area! The atmosphere is great and the food is fantastic! The happy hour prices were incredibly reasonable and include their cheese plate that made entirely in-house highly recommended. The portions are on the small side so be ready for that, but overall this is a great spot!
First of all it’s wonderful to see a vegetarian restaurant in Chicago. They had absolutely wonderful service and a great atmosphere. In terms of food however I would only recommend the shepherd’s pie. The “bacon” wrapped dates and gnocchi had a very fibrous taste to them, almost like wood. The saag paneer spinach dip was okay, and the duck buns had an interesting strong not necessarily good taste.
We visited the larger sister of Fancy Plants Cafe this morning and we were so nicely surprised! Beautiful, cozy, warm interior made us feel welcomed, had kinda organic and hippie feel which corresponded very well with the kind of food they serve. Also, interior made us feel relaxed and "vacation like withdrawn' from a busy life! Since the weather was great we chose a table at their large patio. I asked for any breakfast option and was served delicious vegan scrambled eggs with baby potatoes and out of this world seed/nuts heavier kind of bread. For desert I had a cinnamon roll and tiramisu late. All food tasted great, was created and seasoned the way I was expecting it to be or much better - scrambled eggs were exceeding my expectations as well as their super delish bread ..all served by a very polite cool staff. I also received an extra late free of charge.. nice treat for a first visit! While being surrounded by guests at adjacent tables I've asked some of them about their experience and they were happy to be there as much as we were! and I took some extra photos of what they had : psst! they allowed me to do it ; The friend of mine had some kind of an avocado melt which I would serve a little more creative way by adding a little extra accents on the plate but was not bad Overall, really cool place offering tasty food. I truly recommend them and guarantee you won't be disappointed.
