Wonderful experience again at fnsb animal shelter:. We brought our puppy and cat in to get chipped. Our vet quoted 300 for chips and we got both animals chipped for 30. The staff was highly efficient with dealing with our service, an incoming found dog, and a family looking to adopt. We were in and out within 15min. I made an appointment this morning which was very convenient to get same day service.
Euthanized a cat that was meant to be neutered DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE. Completely ridiculous and immensely frustrating that something like this has happened, note, MULTIPLE TIMES.
I adopted a dog today, and I gotta say, I was very pleased with the whole process! They have you come in by appointment, which is fine. Mine was for 4:45 and I got there right on time and they got a little busy and I didnt meet the dog until 5:10, give or take. I decided pretty quickly I wanted to adopt him and the paperwork process was pretty quick. The two ladies working upfront, Sarah and Jen, were fantastic! Sarah kept apologizing for it taking so long, but it really wasnt taking very at all, and she was just so nice, answering phones, dealing with people showing up and computer/paperwork. I believe I was out of there, dog in hand by 5:40. I just thought those 2 women deserved a shout out.
Not a real big fan of their "first come first serve" policy. Even if you say you're on your way right that second with the money to adopt an animal, they'll continue to show them to other people, and someone might snatch them up before you get there. Never the less, I have gotten two dogs there this year and the volunteers that I met were extremely friendly and able to answer all my questions.
They make it simple to drop animals off to re-home. It looked clean and everyone was friendly and helpful. They seemed to care There was a two page paper to fill out front and back. Not too bad.
I am so angry and disappointed in our animal shelter. I have gone in several times to adopt a dog. Each time I was told that it is first come first serve. I got there right at opening. Being the first person there, I waited in the lobby until 11:30. When the dogs are available. One other family showed up at 1125 for the same dog I wanted. Policy is that we have to have a lottery now. Of course she is picked. What happened to first come first serve? Didn’t they just contradict themselves? I will never be back there again.
They raffle off animals like its a lottery. If you want a certain pet and want to wait till it's available, and someone else wants the same cat or dog. It's NOT first come first served. They make you enter a drawing after everyone has gathered, some lie and say they live at different address even if they came together. The winning draw get the pet. Doesn't matter how many times you've come to visit. They treat the animals like items and as if its a game. Don't come here if you're looking to adopt same day and if you don't want to gamble literally for a pet. They also misinform people about when the animal is available.
All of you have a special place down under, trying to give this sweet boy a better home giving him to you to do that, instead implying ‘neglect’ & putting him down when we notified you if that was the case he would have a home. You took an innocent young dogs life.
Don't give your cat to them if you have to give up your pet. They will put your pet down if they find them "aggressive" because your pet is having trouble readjusting to a new life. If you want your pet to live, go somewhere else. They euthanized my family's cat who is now devastated.
If for any reason you cannot keep your animal don't just set them free take them to the shelter and they will take them at no cost to you!!!
