Both my parents were residents here. My dad for 3 years until 2021 and my mom 2 years to 2025. Both received exemplary care from the team of health care aids and nurses. They took the time to care for them with such respect and dignity.
I never felt comfortable with my father being there before he died after leaving the hospital, we were waiting to be transferred to another place, a safe place, it was only temporary at tuxedo villa, a horrible place, I recommend you go somewhere else, it has come to my attention his call bell was taken away from him. I wasn't told due to protecting my grief, apparently it was handled by a family member and the facility did nothing, even confessed it's a problem in his facility, my father was only there 6 days before he passed , I never liked it there the staff obviously lied to me pretending that they were doing there jobs, while I was present, His roommates family even removed him not long after my father passed away, I ask myself whynnDo not send your loved ones here ever
Some staff are excellent but they're chronically short staffed, woefully underpaid, overworked, and exhausted. We didn't have a choice as mom came from hospital and had to take the first bed available. She died before we could get her to a better home. She hated the food, and there was nothing to do for intellectually aware residents who were lumped in with dementia-sufferers. Family needs to be closely involved and keep a sharp eye on their loved ones to ensure dignity and quality of life is maintained. If this place demonstrates an acceptable norm for personal care homes today, I live in dread of getting old.
Mom was there for a year and we were very impressed by the level of care and compassion she received by all of the staff, especially on unit 2. Due to driving distance it had not been our first choice for Mom but it certainly turned out to be the best choice. The building is clean and well maintained, everything is on one level, parking is easy, the gardens are lovely, the food is fresh, the activities staff is wonderful, and there is an on-site hairdresser there twice a week. Mom said that they spoiled her and that's the best compliment of all!
Just another understaffed, under maintained private nursing home. Knowing it's private owned should warn you to run away. If not, the holes in walls you can see daylight through, the collapsing walls from poor infrastructure and water damage. Looks like something out of the SAW movies. After that if your still there, wait for the largest mice you've ever seen to chase you around this mouse infested nursing home. Real nice putting your loved ones in a mouse house!
