The instructor cut all my hair off to a very short pixie which was not asked for. Asked for hair over my ears that was ignored also. Usually good cuts from here, but not going back as I don't have my choice of instructors. LISTEN to clients and don't do as you please.
I’ve been coming here for years, like 20+. Had an appointment with a specific student and to my extreme disappointment when I arrived she was getting her hair done!!! Thus unable to do mine. I was then assigned to a brand new student and when I complained I was basically told that I should have read the fine print… no guarantee you’ll get who you ask for!!! Super Unprofessional!!! Response to response: Haha lame… like I said I’ve been a client for years.

I had a bleach and color hot pink done for the first time ever. SAMANTHA was amazing. Took about 6 hours and she barely took a break. She did a great job and had great suggestion. She was personable and friendly. The instructors were friendly as well. SAMANTHA is there till August if you want something new and fresh go see her. I think Samantha has better pictures than me but it was a great experience and I will be back. Prices seemed super reasonable to me compared to other salons advertised prices
I’ve been to other hair academy’s before and had a great experience . I am fully am aware that these are students that are working on your hair and there can be mistakes and you most like won’t get a perfect job done . But I found Est Elle academy instructors to be unprofessional, unfriendly and the price to get your hair coloured VERY HIGH students work !!! On this particular day , I found that the two students doing my hair lacked ambition and kept complaining what a big job they had to do and weren’t even getting paid for it because they were students at the academy . I clearly stated what I wanted done, also showing a picture. The instructor was rude in terms of cutting me off when I was talking about the color I wanted. Ive been getting my hair done for 9 years now and I always get the same thing done somewhere else . I came to academy after my hairstylist was fully booked for the near future . I did not want baby lights on my hair I clearly booked for a full head of highlights bringing that up multiple times . However , After sitting in that chair for 6 hours I was very unhappy with the outcome . The girls decided to go have a snack while my hair had toner in it . They disappeared in their lunch room for 35 minutes as a result my hair turned purple silver and grey, when I had wanted warm tones. I told the instructor this she brushed it off and didn’t care . The girls weren’t friendly or understanding either . I was uncomfortable from the moment I got there , I should’ve left right away . And they ended up charging me $185 for my short hair!!!! Ridiculous . I pay that much for a master stylist doing my hair at an actual salon . Poor quality , waste of money and time I do not recommend this place !
been going here for the last decade - while prices have gone up with inflation, it's a great place to get a budget cut and give students some practice! not always a professional cut, but the teachers always make sure your cut is good before walking out : I've gotten some great haircuts here hover the years
Where do I start? I had booked with a competitive student salon in Edmonton for a full colour and cut for our son for his 16th birthday party next weekend. It was booked a week ago and I confirmed on 3 separate occasions that his appointment was confirmed. They called this morning to confirm as well. Figured it’s a go! Well no that wasn’t the case at all. An hour into the 90min drive to Edmonton they called and said there wasn’t enough time booked and no students available to do it. I had mentioned a few times that my son is a brunette and wanted purple hair and yet it was overlooked. It was mass confusion from the start with them. I asked to speak to a supervisor to ask what happened and there “wasn’t one”. Not very apologetic with a suggestion to book next week…um, no thanks. Fast forward 10min later. I called Est-elle Academy to ask if there was any chance at all that they had time to do the cut and colour. This was at 1235pm today and Kevin who answered the phone was extremely accommodating and said they usually don’t book full colours after 1230pm. He was empathetic to our situation and said he would get him in if we came right away. We got stuck behind traffic and ended up in construction so we were later than what GPS said. Regardless they took him in. Once we stepped into the salon he was greeted kindly and off he went for his purple hair! I would love to pass on a huge thank you to Kevin and our sons student stylist Justice for saving the day and doing an amazing professional job on this service. They educated our son on after care to get the best out of his colour as well. I highly recommend Est-elle Academy to anyone and give them a thousand gold star rating!!!!
Kayla I think did my hair was really nice and kind. She had suggestions for color in my hair. I will definitely visit again!
First time here, I saw Candace who was absolutely lovely and did a fantastic job. The instructors seemed very nice as well and from my point of view really cared about Candaces learning and progress. Thank you for helping our future stylists accomplish their goals
