Pros: Clean, well organized, well staffed Large and interesting variety of foods from central and Eastern Europe that's hard to find elsewhere. Cons: Easily the only store I've been to on the Island where staff is reliably and consistently mean - it seems to be institutionalized in the store's work culture. I can't think of any other place where I feel like the staff is disgusted by my mere presence.
I would have given them 5 stars if the staff was welcoming and happy to have a new Customer. The fruit and vegetables, meat, and take out food was super!! The tangerines the best I ever had!! The meat pie was incredible! But when I asked for help they sniffed at me as if I was disturbing them and couldn't be bothered with me. So good place to get your grocery items but cold uptight staff.....
As usual you need to be vigilant there. Strudel and vegetables with mold inside are easily staying at the shelf together with salads that the package blows its cap within 30 minutes and dry bagels in package smelling and taste like mold even with its best before date is still good. 2 stars instead of 1 as at least they accept all the junk back and return the money so far but tired to return something every time after shopping there. Management should think twice about that strategy and make price discounts on stuck things before they get mold and before customers will stop shopping there. Why to keep high prices till the very end then throw away food? BTW friends warned me about small dry bagels but I didn't believe until my turn arrived and it arrived on the 3rd time I bought them. Suspiciously fast I would say. google asked of UPDATE half an year after: nothing has changed - salami 2 months expired still on the shelf, other 4 days too and counting see 3rd picture... Bought 500gr cheese and was told they don't slice it they always did but that day she was not in the mood I guess so telling stories as excuses.
Pros: 1Can find some Polish and Ukrainian products. 2 Have some great products you can’t find in other stores. Cons: 1 I was very disappointed that Epicure sponsors Russia. I definitely didn't expect to see so many products from Russia and it was very difficult to find certain items 2 The woman who works behind charcuterie section was extremely rude. , She kept literally rolling her eyes and showing how sick she is of this job and that almost I am "bothering" her. I was truly shocked. I don’t expect 5 star service but to be simply polite it’s common sense if you work with people. I didn’t feel welcome at all and didn’t appreciate the way how she was talking to me. The only person who made a situation better is the young gentleman who works at that section too who came later and gave me what I needed with positive attitude and smile.
You can find products from the countries of the former USSR. I bought Georgian Khinkali and I like it very much . Also bought cheese Suluguni, its some kind of cheese but not Suluguni, not even close. I was looking for churchkhela but can't find it.
Great Russian market witha variety of products worth buying, for it's quality and price, like the cheese spread, ready to eat crepes for those lazy moments, shrimps, ready made seafood salads, cold cuts...
It is à European market, I’m not sure what to say I stop to buy something to drink I went out with tons of things , hot table from fish to everything, spices, meat, sweet, vegy, drink, knish, cake , coffee etc..... All product are from Europe, all good all yummy, I think I weight a few pounds more because of that market lol . Go visit believe me it’s worth the visit .
I love the food and the variety of different items that cannot be found in the big supermarket.
The young lady at the cash today was a breath of fresh air when compared to a previous cashier. Very sweet and friendly. I used to be a restaurant manager so I know that good PR is extremely important when there is so much competition around. I also found a stir-fry sauce that I haven't been able to find in other stores.
Good variety of hard to find foods and ingredients. They have a great little dessert section with pastries and small cakes
