Their wonton soup is by far the BEST wonton soup I have ever had! And I am a 49 year old gal who has consumed a lot of Chinese food in my time! I was going to say it is the best soup in Westchester, but honestly, I think it's the best out of everywhere!!! I hate when I order soup and it is bland, dull, boring. But not this soup from Empire - full of flavor, savory and delicious!!! The rest of their food is great too, but the soup?? Ten out of ten!
Ordered delivery and the service was quick. However, I don’t think I have ever seen general Tso’s chicken with such little meat. Literally 90% of the meal was all breading. Very disappointing. If you really like heavy breading and no meat, this is the place to go.Takeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
Very good take out Chinese food. Fast and efficient. Call and by the time you get there the order is always ready. Prices are very fair. Place could use some modernizing but that is my only complaint. They also deliver which is nice. My go to place for take out Chinese food. Food is always made fresh to order.
Best Chinese family restaurant ever! I live in Hawthorne and my family and I went to eat there multiple times. Tina is very nice. Wilson is okay. Food and service is great! Egg drop soup and chicken broccoli is my favorite there. Great prices for great food. Delivery is fast and easy!
I wish I could give this no stars. I called to order food and the lady on the phone was rushing me to order. I wasn't done ordering my food when she hung up on me. Ok, I called back to order again.. all she said was "yeah yeah ok i got it" then hangs up. I waited 1hour and 30 minutes for my food to get here. I called back to see what was going on and they told me the food will be here in 3 minutes. 10 more minutes passed and I called again and they said the driver will be here in 5 minutes and that my food was fresh and hot. Once the driver got here, we checked the food and the order was completely wrong and it was very cold. We called back for a refund and she was very mad even though we got our food order incorrect.
The ribs were good, nice fresh duck sauce if you ask for it I don't eat the stuff in the packets I don't know if the fresh mustard is good because even though I asked for it and she said it was in the bag...it wasn't. We had Orange Beef, Sesame Chicken & egg rolls...all meh. The place looks dirty, but I was with my sister & that's where she likes to get her Chinese food.
Always great quality and good food - been coming here for years.
We arrived at this restaurant for a meeting. my friend recommended this place. Well, it was very successful. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we felt very good. The meal was fresh and delicious. We had a great time and we shall definitely come back again. we highly recommend this place.
I don't normally review places, but I grew up in Hawthorne and this place has been my staple for 10+ years. The food is amazing best sesame chicken I've ever had hands down, the prices are fair, and the workers are great. I don't live in Hawthorne anymore, but if I ever get the chance I will drive down 20 minutes to pick up. For a Chinese takeout place. Who does that? That's how good it is.
I would've given it 1 or 2 stars, but the price can't be beat and the workers were kind and warm, yet quick. You can tell it's a nice family who runs Empire. Unfortunately, my standards are a bit high; the chicken Tso's was super tough at times, and the teriyaki beef skewers had the cheap "jerky" flavor to it. Egg roll was also just flavorless to me. That said, if you're an average American family with a soft spot for supporting a community and small business: try it. If high quality isn't your priority, it's a good option.
