Elmer's Restaurant

We came here on purpose after eating here years ago. No complaints about food or coffee. Prices seemed to be what's expected now with good portion sizes. Husband ordered blueberry pancakes with a good number of blueberries and the pancakes themselves were good. I ordered the potato cakes, just 2, but so filling that I couldn't eat both. It's nice that the items like pancakes and waffles come with eggs and choice of meat. Waitress asked if he wanted just the pancakes, so that must be an option, but the price on the menu was for the combo. Most customers seemed to be locals and this appeared to be a favorite place which probably means that they don't notice some things anymore, like the condition of the restaurant and restroom, which could benefit from some updates. We sat in the second booth and I had to sit closer to the window so that I wasn't sitting in a hole left by broken springs or something. Presentation of food, like sour cream placed attractively, is important. Ambience of a restaurant is important. The total package is important when it is getting more expensive to eat out and when there are a couple of competing restaurants with reviews that are enticing.

Absolutely Excellent! It's Easter Sunday, and I'm visiting from out of town: The service was excellent! Our waitress, Bella, was kind, informed, and attentive. The host and hostess were also cheerful. And my Oregon Trail Steak and Eggs breakfast was beyond satisfying. Thank you again!

Passing through for work and stopped at Elmer's for the first time. It was SO good! The omelet and hash browns were full of flavor and then I had a pancake to top it off. The only hard part was deciding what I wanted to eat. My server, Melissa, took great care of me and kept my drink refilled without my asking. Great experience and I'll definitely be back!

We had a group gathering here and it was a good experience. The staff was amazing! The food was really good. I thought the salads were a bit small and the fish and chips could have been less soggy, but overall everyone enjoyed their meal. Our waitress, Emily, was quick and efficient. Our drinks stayed full and she was attentive. She rallied everyone to sing happy birthday to my dad which was a nice touch! We were grateful we could make a reservation in the back room with the fireplace. Elmers has a nice hometown diner atmosphere.

Amazing food and wonderful staff. The owner is just as busy and involved with the customers as the great staff. He leads by example and is very courteous. His kitchen manager is amazing and leads the team and you can really tell everyone loves their work. The food is absolutely amazing and the environment is so positive and friendly.

The stuffed hash browns were great! Not hash browns from a bag, homemade! The stuffed potato cakes were yummy according to my wife. I had the marionberry syrup on the pancakes was fantastic! Service was great! Definitely a do again restaurant.Dine in: Yes

The cinnamon roll pancakes were yummy. I thought they would be cinnamon rolls cut up and they weren't. Super filling with eggs and sausage. The bacon avocado burger was good. You couldn't really taste the bacon. The onion rings were crispy. The fish was okay, but you can't expect much for fish in these places. Would definitely go again.

Good foods found in this diner at the Idaho State University. We ordered the chicken egg Benedict and the NW combo crepe found on their first page menu. Egg Benedict cooked perfectly and the crepe tasted great. We like the hash brown side the most though. A comfortable dinning place with friendly setting and friendly staffs.

Clean with a welcoming environment. Quick service, food competitively priced and good although a bit salty. The polite friendly staff with their professional attitude only enhanced the experience. Good place to go either by yourself or with friends and family is ideal for a bite to eat or nice cup of coffee.

The only thing stopping me from giving the food 5 stars is the loaded hash browns which were pretty bad. But the pancakes were great. The waitress, however, earned those 3 stars by continuing to interrupt us mid conversation. Then once we were ready for the check she was nowhere to be found. The atmosphere is alright. Kinda reminds me of a 50's or 60's diner. Overall I highly recommend eating here. Its well worth it and reasonably priced.
