Story

Ellicottville Brewing was founded in 1995 by beer maven Peter Kreinheder after a ski trip to Vail. Inspiration had struck : an authentic craft brewery would be the perfect match for the village of Ellicottville, located in the heart of New York ski country, and known as “The Aspen of the East”. This pairing of Old World brewing styles and winter-worshipping ski culture proved to be a success ahead of the trend, with EBC helping to lead as an example for other craft brewers in a then-fledgling market. Since its inception, EBC has seen fantastic growth to both its portfolio of brews and its facility, and in 2013 the original brewpub was transformed into a brand new 8,000 sq. ft. restaurant, brew house and German beer garden, which Hans Nerb (NERB German Beer System guru) called "the most beautiful brew house he had ever seen".

EBC is known for a number of flagship brews as well as our page-turning new releases and expanding line of retail bottles and in-house drafts, which has significantly grown in recent years. We’ve also grown in number of locations : opening a second restaurant & bar EBC West in Fredonia, NY, and the brand-new lakeside Ellicottville Brewing on Chautauqua, opening in Bemus Point, NY this summer 2016.

Visited on a busy Saturday before Thanksgiving, near lunch time. Seated within minutes, after a five minute wait at the bar...long enough to order a flight of beer. The waiter was attentive, the food was excellent! The beer was great, and love being able to try a few!

Beautiful area in the middle of a touristy area created around a ski resort. Great place to try micro brew beers & interesting dishes. The food was good, not great. We travel to experience lots of micro breweries so this was a fun trip. Weekends, any time of year, are busy in this town. Parking is very limited with no close handicapped spots to speak of. Beautifully designed. You can choose dining inside or out on their nice sized patio. Our server wasn't overly personable but the 3 female hostesses were great. Oddly, when you're put on the waiting list they text you that your table is ready. Not sure what they do for those who don't have, want, or carry their phones while there? Personally, I feel they are a bit overpriced on the food; especially when compared to other breweries we've visited. They also have a gift shop & you can get some beers bottled to take home. If you're a beer fan & enjoy experiencing the various breweries I recommend you stop by!

Should be 0 ⭐️S! I went here today with my partner and my best friend we waited 30min to be seated which was fine as it was busy. Once being seated 15min before our waiter took our drink order(3 waters) which took 10min to deliver. Once our waters arrived we ordered pretzels, calamari, pirogies, tots, and a black bean burger. We waited an hour and 15min for our food to arrive with no one checking on us. When the food arrived the only thing that was not cold (and I mean cold not warm) was the cheese for the pretzels. We waited for the waiter to come back and when he did we asked for our food to be heated up. He took it back to the kitchen. When the food came back out it was hot but the burger was soggy, the calamari was hard and the pirogies were mush. Over half of our food was uneaten. We voiced our complaints to the waiter and nothing was done. Our check came with nothing taken off. We will never go back and have not one good thing to say about thing establishment.

We came to visit here all the way from Canada. We were in the area for a family reunion and wanted to check out Ellicotville. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We loved the flights and food. Our favourite I think were the Blueberry beer and the Blood Orange beer. Although we are too far to visit again, we had a great time and recommend this place for visitors. The patio was beautiful.

The Ellicottville Brew pub has good food and drink a pleasant environment but terrible customer service. My elderly family member was leaving the restaurant and tripped on the stone work. She struck her face cut her lip and broke her elbow trying to brace her fall. She was offered no assistance and rushed out of the restaurant. They have shown no interest in how she is doing and no offer of any assistance with the medical bills. As a customer for many years I am beyond disappointed with their callous approach to this incident. The common courtesy anyone would expect in a situation like this has been completely absent. Needless to say our family will never return to this establishment.
