The Elk County Historical Society was founded May 21, 1964 and incorporated in 1974. We are located in Ridgway, the county seat of Elk County, in NW PA.
The Society is a nonprofit membership organization funded through memberships, donations, and grants and governed by a 15-member Board of Directors. The Society has a 501c3 tax exempt status.
The Elk County Historical Society is funded in part by grants from the County of Elk and the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission.
