Came here for happy hour and enjoyed the drinks and food. Tried a margarita, beer, tacos and nachos. All were good and staff was as friendly. They also have a nice patio for those nice days. Recommend to try if your in the area.
The star was their sweet potato tacos and freshly fried churros with icecream The nachos are also a good starting point We tried carne asada as well, but a little dry on the meat. Maybe their shredded options would have been better. Overall a okay experience. Not the best tacos around, it seems that hole in the wall places make them the best This was an expensive version of it. Unless you don’t mind the loud music and bar vibe, it’s not worth the money
Great Mexican food in Yaletown. Baja Fish tacos and the Chicken Fajitas were excellent. Huge portions of Guacamole and Pico with the chips. Great patio to sit and hangout and enjoy.
Stopped in for brunch on a Sunday. Spacious seating and staff were friendly and attentive. My partner and I got the tabbouleh and el cubano. For the tabbouleh, it felt a little lack luster and perhaps could use a smokiness or more acidity to round it out. The El Cubano was the star, with very juicy meat and the right amount of cheese between a crispy, but not tough, baguette. May need to come back to try the tacos since they seem well received
Food was amazing and tasted delicious. They have a large selection of tacos and other dishes. Ordered the birria tacos and chicken quesadilla. Both of which tasted very good and cheesy. Portion wise it was quite disappointing. The chicken quesadilla had a good amount of food for its cost $16. But the birria taco was so small for a price of $15 is quite honestly a rip off. It came with 3 mini tacos and a dip… could honestly have been an appetizer. Very disappointed with that. The service was not good either. The waitress only came by to give us our food and take away our dishes. Never checked up on us or refilled our water.
Had some food and drinks before. Canucks game one night and was pleasantly surprised. Honestly, I wanted to go here strictly because the name of the restaurant is awesome and I loved The Three Amigos growing up. Tried chicken quesadillas and shrimp tacos and both were amazing. Great drinks as well, including a tasty coconut marg. Prompt service too!
First Visit to El Guapo! Cool upbeat pub/restaurant in historic Yaletown. I met some friendly people while dining and having beverages. It goes to show you that not all people are antisocial or cliquey. The food menu is unique and different. There are a few very healthy dare I say avant-garde choices i have never experienced before! Same to be said for some cocktails. The design and ambiance of the locale is very artistic and modern, feels casual yet upscale. I enjoyed my visit and the staff and I shall return!
It was bad! Place is kind of old and dirty with hanging dirt in the corners. Nachos were OK, though the dip portions were very small. We also ordered chicken and beef fajitas which were a total disaster. Chicken was low grade meat with bones and skin in it. Beef was absolutely uneatable just a piece of rubber sole. I couldn't chew it and had to spit it out eventually. Vegetable in the fajitas felt like they were cooked the day before and then reheated. Never coming back and wouldn't recommend it.
The servers were nice, good options for drinks, but I guess it's not the right place to go for food on Saturday night. We waited for over an hour for the food, and they kinda discourage us from ordering desserts after that. Also, the music was so loud. I actually went past the place earlier in the afternoon and it looks cozy, so probably come anytime except the Saturday night, and see if you got a different experience. I might want to give it another try as well NOT on the Saturday night because the foods are actually good!
Visited Guapo a few times and food varies from bad to good. The service is always friendly and quick. Not usually busy for lunch time. The burger is good. Halloumi sandwich is great but a bit messy. The tacos are okay, but not filling enough. Beet salad is good. The Cubano sandwich has a strange and unpleasant taste. Not bad enough to send back, but wouldn't order again. Picking a salad instead of fries has an unexpected extra cost of $4.
