I was super excited to try Edzos for the first time since they've been closed the past year or so, but I was super disappointed in the quality of the meal. For almost $13 you get a small, average tasting cheeseburger and some of the worst fries I've ever had. They were covered in way too much salt, not crispy at all, and some weren't cooked all the way through. I like supporting smaller fast food places, but I won't be coming back here. Dietary restrictions: You can state your food allergies on the menu when you order.
Yum. Recommended by a friend who used to live here. Burgers and loaded fries did not disappoint. The shake was classically good, came in a paper to go cup and we were offered the metal mixing cup to finish it off. Great experience. Hit the spot. Nice staff.
Great yummy burger. Garlic fries are delicious. on the expensive side. But more than that, the only way to order is to scan a QR code. I hate that and I hate having to enter my personal info into their system in order to order. I also really don’t like that not only do I have to order on my phone while there, and despite almost no service needed in a bare bones no-frills cafeteria like atmosphere, the system prompts for. 20% tip! The whole thing feels like a money grab- how can they totally maximize monetizing the customer. The food is really yummy though.
Got a burger, loaded fries, and an Oreo shake. All tasted great - especially the shake and fries! The service wasn’t great, but it was worth trying after finding it via the Infatuation with rave reviews. I’d consider going back next time I’m in Evanston, it’s definitely a bit more unique than the chain restaurants that are around the area. Also worth noting - they don’t have indoor dining or a patio, but there’s a nice pinkie outdoor seating area right across the street!
This is a great basic burger joint. If you want a great burger, here's the place. Nothing fancy in the decor. Just burgers and other good food you would expect. Also, good milkshakes. Super glad Edzo's is back.Food: 5/5
Fully delightful, every time. Their burgers and milk shakes are exceptional, and their cheese fries may well be the best kept secret in Evanston. Well worth checking out as a dine-in or takeout option!
I remember eating here when it opened in 2009. I lived in Evanston and this place was so good I ended up making this like 80%of of meals. I sure do miss this place. I have not eaten there in over 10 years. I hope it's still as good as I remember it. I might take a trip out to Evanston just to cure the craving. Food: 5/5
Not what it was before it closed down. You have to order digitally with your phone. Menus are gone. We ordered burgers, fries, and shakes. They brought the burgers. After we were halfway through the burger, they figured out that we ordered shakes. They brought the shakes. The burgers are finished and we're halfway through the shakes before I ask them about the fries. They look at the computer system and realize that we ordered fries. At this point, we were done. We didn't even want the fries anymore, but we didn't want to be difficult. So we asked them to go. We took the fries, opened the bag, and grabbed some fries to eat. They were reheated/re-fried and they tasted terrible. We threw them away, on-the-spot. I only write this review, not to demean the restaurant, but as a means to appeal to the owners to make Edzo's the way it used to be. It was a wonderful, nostalgic spot for great burgers. They've stripped that away.
Edzo's burgers is a popular local burger joint with spacious interior and fast service. Craving for burgers we went to Edzo's as they had high numbers of reviews and a high rating. However, the experience at Edzo's wasn't exciting nor satisfying. First off, the price isn't exactly cheap. For a single thin 4 oz burger with standard buns is $5.25. The Charburger with a thicker 8oz burger was just that, a cheap burger with a thicker patty. Both doesn't come with cheese and costs extra. More importantly, the burger itself, though not bad, it is nothing to rave about. The patty or the buns are pretty standard, nothing extraordinary. When the ordinary comes only with as much as you want ketchup and mustard on the side, I don't think there's much to much to write about. On the bright side, the fries at Edzo's are absolutely perfect! Wonderfully cut, seasoned and deep fried! Lowdown, it's a student's burger joint, with great fries!
Tasty burger and fries, and loved the atmosphere of the restaurant! Service was a bit awkward, but certainly not rude, just a bit off. Food came out reasonably quickly, loved the meal although the chocolate milkshake was heavily diluted and practically just vanilla, that element was not well-done. Prices are a bit high but nothing astronomical. Cool establishment in downtown Evanston, great decor inside it's definitely worth the visit!
