We went in for tubing. It was so much fun!! The staff was kind and patient to explain us the safety on tubing as it was our first time. We booked our tickets online and signed the waiver online as well. You can get the helmets at the lodge where there are snacks and drinks too as other renting gear or choose to have them delivered to your address. We found the prices very reasonable/fair for a whole hour of tubing! They have two tubing paths for variation. They always make sure everything is safe and accommodating. We loved that it's close to downtown as that's where we were staying, it's close to the Garden Pyramids too Mussart Conservatory in a walking distance, so we could cross that on our list too! We saw the ice wall and it looked amazing but it was closed that day. We liked that the ski club wasn't too crowded and everyone had plenty of space for all their activities. Super kid friendly as well as perfect for adults. We didnt ski but their ski hills were so well prepared and looked so much fun as well as safe. They had plenty of ski slides. They had from beginner hills to very professional and challenging ones. Totally recommend!
This place is great. Small but functional for practicing or spend a half day up and down different slopes. It is perfect for beginners! Staff is nice and very quick in answering via email. My son had lots of fun starting skiing and tubing!
First time at the ski club, the rentals is a mess stood there for minutes before someone helped us and when we finally got our skis and walked all the way to the far hill just to see they were not fitting properly and had to walk all the way back. There’s no lifts. The hills were very choppy and staff on atvs driving all over the hill in front of you so be aware you may have to dodge them with the other folk going down the hill. I had to come to a complete stop on the hill to cater the atvs. Wish we went tubing instead. It looked much more fun.
For a family outing, it can't be beat. Reserve ahead and get your tickets through the web covid measures in place. Nice views and lots of selection for runs. This ain't Jasper, but is a great spot in the city for winter fun! Parking can be a bit of a hassle, if the lot is full.
I don't recommend Edmonton Ski Club for ski lessons for young kids. I had my son, who is 4, do two ski lessons. There are too many kids per instructor and the top of the magic carpet is too high for the little ones, so the method is to have the kids side step up the hill. For a 4 year old, this is a bit of a hopeless endeavor. My husband ended up paying for a lesson where he did all the "teaching". I can't comment on lessons in older age ranges.
Booked tubing for Friday night. Due to a last minute emergency I reached out by phone, text and email to the hill requesting another time. After some time of not hearing back from anyone, I reached out again to reschedule the time and was told no. The quoted a strict 48 hour cancelation procedure. While I understand this, I was not looking to cancel, just to use my tickets at another time offered a weekday during the day as long as it was open last minute on their calendar..... I never heard back from anyone. A business that not only does not respond to their custers but also does not find flexibility is not one that I want to attend. Disappointed as this seemed like a fun winter activity.
Terrible! Take a rent snowboard! Trying to come up on the big hill, and it’s just one way to come on lift! And I can’t! Sorry, I not first time on snow! So this guy’s no money back! No words! Thank you, I chose a next time Rabbit Hill
New Carpet lift is fantastic for learners, mix of terrain, lessons have been excellent, and the view is unreal. The lodge is a comfortable place to have a drink at the end of the day and you can beat the prices.
Positive sports environment. Super clean chalet. Fun for school age kids for sure!!! So thankful for the staff and instructors!
They hosted a March 2022 winter outdoor concert featuring Scenic Route To Alaska. There was a couple food trucks serving hotdogs, corndogs, poutine, fries, etc. They also were serving alcohol drinks beer/wine/nudes, hot chocolate and coffee. The temperature was -10⁰ There was at least a dozen standup overhead heaters and a couple wood burning firepits. They set up 4 portable washrooms. There was no parking but a shuttle from Boonie Doon mall was available and ran back and forth throughout the event. Over all was a great time.
