About The Parks, Recreation and Culture Department is dedicated to providing exceptional recreational and cultural opportunities for your benefit and health. Story The City of Orillia Parks, Recreation and Culture Department is responsible for a variety of recreation, cultural and leisure opportunities, and is instrumental in organizing many sport tourism initiatives. These programs and services preserve and enhance the quality of life for present and future generations. The Parks, Recreation and Culture Department includes 33 full-time employees and about 125 contract/casual employees. As a team, the staff works with different organizations to identify and fulfill the recreational, cultural and sports needs of the citizens of Orillia.
