About Educating Children for Sustainable Living in an At My Pace Learning Program Preschool for children ages 2-5 years old. Story Our multi-disciplinary curriculum is a balance of left and right brain learning, with Math, Science and Literacy complimented by Arts, Yoga and Music. We provide inclusive learning environments that demonstrate and educate sustainable practices through academics, micro-agriculture, fine arts and scientific inquiry. Pottery, paper-making, cooking, live animal care and window gardening is great for experiential and hands-on learners, too! To support your child’s social well-being, we develop a strong relationship with our community, support meaningful friendships and expose students to the global culture. In-class guidance is based upon Marshall Rosenberg’s Compassionate Communication to develop gracious attitudes while they work and play together in healthy, peaceful ways. We are grounded in our core values of Environmental Awareness, Cultural Inclusivity, and Emotional Intelligence, and all our staff are committed to guiding learners onto a path of continuous curiosity and intentional living. Our teachers strive to inspire their students to explore and experiment within the context of the natural world, intelligently considering possible solutions to real world challenges. Programs reflect this through resource management activities, multicultural experiences and through daily communication coaching. Classes are taught in English by multi-lingual teachers and are open to ESL students. Mission We strive to provide an inclusive learning environment for conscientious families creating thoughtfully appointed, high quality preschool facilities that demonstrate and educate sustainable practices through academics, micro-agriculture, fine arts and scientific inquiry. Our teachers seek to inspire students to explore and experiment within the context of the natural world, intelligently considering possible solutions to real world challenges. Teachers aim to support children's emerging social skills as well, helping them to develop a gracious attitude while they work and play together in healthy, peaceful ways that maintain and enhance the future well-being of their world. Our programs will also go the extra step of supporting care-giver participation in their child's growth by providing tailored workshops and daily feedback about their child. Our goal is to educate all the adults in a child's life about human personality types, multiple learning styles, individual ranges of abilities and a wide variety of methods to kindly guide emergent behaviours. Available programs: Prep School Level 1, Ages 1.5-2.5, 10:30-12:30 Prep School Level 2, Ages 2-3, 8:30-10:30 Preschool, Ages 2.5-5, 8:30-12:00 Junior Kindergarten, Ages 3.5-5, 1:00-4:00 All classes run Monday through Friday. Prep School classes may be purchased for 1-5 days per week in the registration package; Preschool and Jr. Kindergarten are available in the following registration packages: - 2 Days per Week (Tuesday + Thursday) - 3 Days per Week (Monday + Wednesday + Friday) - 5 Days per Week (Monday - Friday)
