About The GABE Shop is a thrift store run entirely by volunteers and donations from the community. All profits go to Gabriola Island health initiatives. Story The GABE Shop donates to island health initiatives such as, Meals on Wheels, Drivers to Doctors and equipment for the urgent care unit at the Gabriola Medical Clinic on Gabriola Island. GABE stands for Gabriola Auxiliary Business Enterprise and is part of The Gabriola Auxiliary for Island Health Care Society. The Auxiliary is always looking for new volunteers, so drop by The GABE Shop and let us know you're interested. You never know what you might find on an excursion to The GABE Shop! From crystal to telescopes, suits to golf shoes, artwork to bread makers. It is a treasure hunter's dream! We accept donations Tuesday - Saturday 11am - 4pm. Gently worn clothing, jewelry and shoes, household items, artwork, books and more. We cannot accept children's car seats, toys with small parts, electronics and a few other items. When in doubt, give the store a call and one of our amazing volunteers will let you know if we can take your donation.
