About Unique Historic Train Station/Store/Mill, now watering hole and music venue. We are NOT in Scales Mound. We are a separate village. Story COLD BEER. Huge selection of beers, 90+. Soft drinks, hard drinks, hot drinks, coffee, food. Situated on the East Fork of the Galena River and the railroad tracks, these buildings are all that is left of the business district of Council Hill Station, founded by Europeans in 1854 when the railroad arrived. Enjoy our historic buildings, the store/railway station, a ruin of a woolen mill, barn, and silo, and also the creek. Music is acoustic. C'mon out to the bottom (or valley in city terms). Scales Mound is a mailing address only and cannot be changed in Facebook. We are located 9 mi. E of Galena, 6 mi. W of Scales Mound, 5.5 mi. S of New Diggings, and about 5 mi. N of Galena Territory.
