About We work collaboratively to improve lives and build a stronger community. The generosity of many empowers us to reach out to address Porter County's most pressing issues. Story In 1996, visionary donors across Porter County answered the Lilly Endowment’s challenge grant with $1 million in contributions, establishing the Foundation. Since then, the Foundation has continued to expand its reach and impact. Today, the Foundation holds over $30 million in assets, has more than 4,200 donors and distributes over $1.8 million a year in grants to nonprofit organizations and scholarships to local students. Mission We inspire giving and engage our community to improve lives in Porter County now and forever.
