About Airdrie's premier preschool. A Reggio Emilia inspired preschool, dedicated to the education of young children and their families Story The Reggio Emilia education system that exists in Northern Italy is much larger than it’s individual schools. It is integrated into all facets of their society; from government to local community initiatives, and for this reason we cannot replicate it exactly. At 100 Worlds Preschool, it is our mission to run a Reggio Emilia inspired program that follows the key principles of the Reggio Emilia method: Collaboration: Children have the right: *To Contribute to the learning of others *To be listened to *To better understand themselves and their place in the community *To ask questions *To be valued in the community Emergent Curriculum: Children have the right: *To explore their interests *To construct their own knowledge *To investigate and explore freely *To hypothesize and test theories *To be inspired Project Based Learning: Children have the right to: *To take as much time as they want on a topic *To reflect on past experiences *To research, plan, and make decisions with their peers and teachers *To decide what materials and resources they need *To problem solve and communicate with others Documentation: Children have the right: *To have their work displayed *To make their learning visible *To demonstrate their thinking process *To help adults shift their image of the child and see the child’s potential *To look back at their own learning process The Environment as the Third Teacher Children have the right to: *To have interesting and responsive environments *To natural and beautiful spaces *To authentic materials and tools *To consistency *To a democratic environment that adapts to the changing needs of the children Each classroom will have their own culture that is constructed by the individuals that inhabit it Programs and Fees All programs are three hours a day. The morning program runs from 8:30-11:30am, and the afternoon program runs from 12:30-3:30pm Tues/Thurs AM $200 Tues/Thurs PM $200 Mon/Wed AM $200 Mon/Wed PM $200 *We require a one-time security deposit of $60 All of the staff members at our preschool have a police clearance check, child welfare check, and are up to date on their CPR/First Aid. Staff members are all certified in Early Childhood Education.
