About Common Ground Alberta Community Cafe is a not-for-profit, volunteer run, community coffeehouse. Story Ian and Eileen Edwards, pastors in the Moravian Church, originally moved here in part, to start a new church. They quickly realized that Sherwood Park has lots of churches but lacks places for community to form, gather, and connect. Instead of starting a church they decided to open a community coffeehouse. Will this be a church? No. It will be a non-profit business and a service to the community. What will it look like? Some possibilities we've dreamed of include: work of local artists and artisans on display and for sale empowering volunteer service opportunities for someone who is unable to work due to disability open mic nights - opportunities for poets and musicians to express themselves moms or dads with their little ones getting a respite for some adult conversation in a place where their children are welcome dreams of community projects getting off the ground as like minded people find each other opportunities to consider some of the big questions of life and community and to look at what better might look like where we live.
