"The Quadra Bike School offers a professional bicycle mechanic's training programme. Four students at a time live and learn on Quadra Island for five weeks. They also have time to explore Quadra's great trails, some of which can be reached from our own Animal Farm Trail. I began the first version of this course in Toronto with funding from the Bicycle Trade Association of Canada. That course still continues at the Learning Enrichment Foundation. The new course began on Quadra Island in 2011. It has kept up with innovations in tools and with the latest techniques such as mounting tubeless tires. We also keep up to date with important improvements in wheel tensioning and balancing."
