About The Best River Rafting in the Nelson Area Story The Salmo River has some of the best whitewater in BC from May until mid-July; and, the Slocan River has warm water, great scenery and some great class 2 & 3 rapids. This trips is available from June until Labour Day. We also have a gentle float and Inflatable Kayak tours. Transportation is provided to and from the Prestige Lakeside Resort in Nelson.
