Story The Union Gallery is a non-profit organization committed to increasing awareness and appreciation of contemporary visual arts. The gallery is staffed by arts professionals who work in conjunction with a Board of Directors, which consists of Queen's art students and arts professionals from the university and community. The gallery is open to the public on a regular basis (Tues-Sat. 11-4:30pm.) and everyone is encouraged to attend gallery events and programs. As well as showcasing university student artists, the gallery presents the work of professional artists with regional, national and international profiles. The program intent is to provide a venue for the presentation of contemporary art, encouraging original, collaborative and experimental ideas and provide a forum for the exchange of information concerning contemporary art practices. UG is a space centred in community and conversation, driven by play, curiosity, curation and research-creation. We are the primary public gallery at Queen's dedicated to showcasing the range and excellence of students' artistic and curatorial practices. UG also supports local, regional and national professional artists to foster a diverse network of artistic production, presentation and interpretation. UG is centrally located on the first floor of Stauffer Library on Queen's main campus. All are welcome and admission is always free."
