"The Shaarey Zedek Cemetery SZC and Shaarey Shamayim Jewish Interfaith Cemetery SSJIC located in the North End of Winnipeg on Armstrong Avenue and Main Street 230 Armstrong Avenue just across from Kildonan Park, have a rich and beautiful history. The original cemetery SZC was built in the early 1900's and is dedicated to the beloved memory of all Jewish victims of both World War I and World War II, who offered the supreme sacrifice of their lives. Shaarey Shamayim Jewish Interfaith Cemetery opened in early 2012 in a separate, fenced area within the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, with its own entrance. Shaarey Shamayim was created for Jews who wish to be buried with their non-Jewish spouse, partner or other family members."
