Story
Kopriva Family Serves Community Since 1977

Ilona has been a resident of the Town of Oakville since 1976, when she and her late husband Rudy moved here to serve families in their time of bereavement. Ilona and Rudy opened their own funeral home in 1977 and have since served for 30 years. Ilona’s determination and strength continued after Rudy’s death in 1998 to maintain the level of service to the community, helping families at their worst times. Ilona’s compassion and concern for the Oakville and surrounding communities continues to this day in providing excellent staff, facilities and services which enhance the family wishes, in what ever funeral service is determined. Ilona’s continued dedication to serving families includes her creativity and initiatives to make each and every family feel welcomed and comforted during their time with her and her staff.

Ilona has over the years continued to be a strong advocate for many worthwhile causes in the community, with particular attention in recent years, in fundraising for the needy children in Oakville. Ilona’s love and compassion for children is very evident with her tireless hours of volunteering and working with her many volunteers who have the same goals. It is through her dedication to bereaved families and community support, that she has touched so many lives, and has indeed enhanced the quality of life of others in the community. Ilona and her staff are community spirited and community involved.
