About CA Dean is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, part of Eastern Maine Healthcare System and home of Northeoods Healthcare, a department of CA Dean Story Opened in 1911 to administer the healthcare needs of the local community, tourists, and lumbermen, C. A. Dean's hospital remains an important resource for the year-round and seasonal residents as well as the tourists that it serves. Our 25-bed critical access hospital provides acute, skilled, and nursing facility beds. CA Dean also provides 24-hour emergency medical services, including an ambulance and a full service Emergency Department, three family practice locations, diagnostic services, laboratory, digital imaging, CT scan, ultrasound, mammography, rehabilitation services, as well as, podiatry, and general and orthopedic surgery and our newest service, urology.
