"The Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea SCSS is a non-profit aquarium & learning centre located on the beautiful waterfront in Sidney BC. The Centre features over 160 local species of fish and invertebrates as well as an impressive collection of marine mammal skeletons, artifacts, First Nations artwork and other educational exhibits. Each year, the SCSS welcomes more than 60,000 visitors including close to 10,000 students participating in formal school programs or self-guided excursions. With a vision for a healthy and sustainable Salish Sea Bioregion, our mission is to create experiences that engage people to learn about, explore and conserve the Salish Sea Bioregion – its wildlife, waters, land, culture, and people.
