We've been coming to Mirvish for years now, and it's become one of our favourite things to do in the city. The Lion King, Moulin Rouge, Beetlejuice, and most recently The Great Gatsby — every one of them was a great night out.nnWhat stands out to me looking back across all four is how consistent the experience has been. That's the real reason for the five stars. Any venue can have one magical night; doing it repeatedly, across shows this different from each other, is a much harder thing. The Lion King is a completely different kind of evening from Beetlejuice, and Moulin Rouge asks for something different again, but the quality of what we saw held up every single time.nnThe variety is a big part of the appeal. Being able to see a classic family spectacle one season and something sharper and stranger the next means it never turns into the same night out twice. We've brought different people to different shows depending on what's on, and nobody has walked out disappointed yet.nnI also appreciate not having to travel to see productions at this level. Having shows of this scale running here means a proper big-theatre night is a local decision rather than a whole trip, and that's genuinely something to value about living in this city.nnThe Great Gatsby was our most recent, and it kept the streak going. Walking out afterwards we were already talking about how we cannot wait to see the next musical.nnIf you're on the fence about booking something here, book it. Four shows in and it's always fun — we'll keep coming back.nnxx kellychan360
We saw Bat Out Of Hell on April 4th - it was truly awesome, so good!! The cast were energetic and the singing was wonderful.nnWe purposely sat in the last row in the mezzanine, far right. We loved our seats; W 153 and 154. We had the first two seats in our very short row. It was nice to have a large walkway behind us to stretch during intermission. It’s a bit of a hike to get up there but well worth it. Our view was unobstructed and the sound was great.nnWhat a beautiful historic building! They sell snacks, drinks, and even collectables from the show. If weather permits, I suggest waiting outside and letting the bulk of the crowd settle in, which we sadly didn’t do. There were so so so may people trying to get up the stairs that I could barely move my arms around me. Not a great feeling!nnParking can be tricky if you want to park across the street. We saw that they blocked cars in, which is not for us… We parked for a flat fee of $20 a short block away on Shuter Street and Bond Street. On this day, at least, they didn’t block cars in.
We had an amazing experience watching Chicago. We had front Orchestra seats and were able to have a good view of the performances. There were a few seats which were empty which I feel should be released at half price rather than going to waste.nThe people were friendly, and the vendors carrying ice cream and chocolates were fun too.nThe line at the washroom was serpentine. They need to do something about it.nAll in all, we had a fantastic experience watching this famed show.
Come here to indulge and support culture and arts. Beautiful theatre building. Stunning Architecture inside. But a ticket to a play so you can experience this. Five stars all around!!! Such a great place for an outing with family, friends, or a solo outing. Love the customer service here, starting from your very first encounter with the Doorman opening your door, to every other staff working there. It shows they value customer service. Kudos. When you go there, Be prepared to be stunned by the inside- beautiful artwork and staircases. And go early so you can people watch and be part of the fun. For those who want to be boujiee/ bougiee, you get your pics to post online to show your friends your fancy or cultured. Or to post online a review like me . But seriously, this place is just great. And seeing one of their beautiful productions is even better. TIP: get there early to soak up the atmosphere and be part of the excitement. Get your food and drink from concession before the play begins so you beat the crowd at intermission.nIf you can only afford the cheapest seats, then no worries. Every seat in the house has a very good view of the stage. Go with your budget. You will enjoy the experience. It's great to supports arts and culture in the city. Remember to turn off your phone once the actors are on the stage. And by the way, you get to dress as you like these days. I still dress up though, 'cause I'm fancy. Just do me a favour and leave the jogging pants for jogging.nP parking is nearby and so is the subway.
My sister and I were fortunate to have seen the musical Moulin Rouge at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre on a recent trip to Toronto. What great energy! What terrific singing! What wonderful acting! What superb musical tunes! And, what a beautiful theater. We were totally amazed at how the words to hit songs were used to tell the story. I’d love to go back to Toronto to see it again. An AAAA++++!!
