History
Established in 2005
When Ecuador Andino Store's owner Tony Garay moved to the five college area in 2004 he needed a placed to buy those special products like tamales, Jarritos, and queso fresco that reminded him of his home country Ecuador. After learning that there was no place to buy quality Latino or Mexican market goods in the Pioneer Valley he decided to open his own ethnic market so to better serve the always increasing Latino population in Western Massachusetts. His goal was to provide a business with superior customer service where language is not a barrier and customers can purchase Latino and Mexican goods. Little by little he built his loyal customer base and in 2009 he moved Ecuador Andino Store's current location on Route 9 in Hadley, MA. This new location has plenty of parking spaces, is next to a PVTA bus stop, and offers more space for a variety of Latino specialty products. Today he proudly serves the Latino community and larger Pioneer Valley community.
Meet the Business Owner: Tony G.
Business owner Tony Garay moved to Western Massachusetts from the city of Cuenca in Ecuador, located in the Andes Mountains in South America. After learning English he worked his way in the fuel station industry and managed a gas station. After several years of increasing his business management skills and customer service he decided to open an ice cream business in Hatfield. After three years of operating the ice cream store he decided to open a business he truly felt the Five College area desperately needed, a Latino market. In 2005 he opened Ecuador Andino Store on 206 Russell St in Hadley and in 2009 he saw the opportunity to move to a bigger and better location on Route 9 in Hadley, Massachusetts. The new location offers easier access for his customers, being close to 43 PVTA bus stop and more space to offer a variety of latino goods and even a small restaurant thats menu offers tacos, burritos, sopes and queseadillas.
