Perfect fish dishes! Everything was spot on. I purposely ordered tamarind vs tomato versions. They did a splendid job on differentiating their flavors. Big portion. Flavorful with reasonable price.
First time here and it was a good experience. If I have the chance to visit again, I would try other items on their menu. I'm not from the area. The space is cozy, nicely decorated. Staff during our time there was attentive. It was empty coming on a Sunday right when they opened; the space gradually got fuller when we were done with our meal. We ordered tri-color, pho combo, pork belly drunkard's noodle, meat combo Thai fried rice, catfish curry, beef pad Thai, and a to-go order of crispy pork belly fried rice. Tri-color was the perfect amount of sweetness; a very refreshing balance with the savory dishes. We agreed that the catfish curry was a great dish with it's sweet and savory heat pairing well with the white rice that came with it. Noodle dishes were good as well. Wish there were the traditional extras that usually comes with pad Thai like lime and red pepper flakes, but it did not. Overall, it was over $95, without tip. Cash tip was provided.
A nice neighborhood spot. Good food and service, large portions, and reasonable prices. Loved the pad thai and cream cheese wontons. The tom kha here seems thicker and creamier than at other places, but we enjoyed it.
We drove 45 minutes to order take out from East Side Thai and everything was savory and delicious as usual. Quality is great and my orders are always fresh and hot. We ordered pork belly fried rice, spring rolls, pad see yew and jumbo pho. The jumbo pho was split into two bowls when we got home and it was more than enough to feed two big adults. I like everything I've tried so far but the pork belly fried rice draws me back every time. The kapoon is usually top notch too, you really can't go wrong with anything.
Excellent dining experience all around! The food was well-prepared and the portions were generous. My wife and I, in addition to our entrées, got an order of fried rice to share. It was not only HUGE but the best we've ever had!!! We definitely will be recommending Eastside Thai to others. Parking: We went at prime dinner time on a Friday evening--six PM--and had no trouble finding street parking close to the front door of the restaurant.
The spring rolls were fresh & tasty but too bad they didn't have real peanut sauce, and the egg rolls weren't bad.
2.5 stars food was decent. Pork fried rice was on the sweeter side for fried rice it was good just seemed a bit on the sweet side for fried rice. Egg rolls were meh. Spring rolls were good the sauce was lacking though. The shrimp laab was about 25% shrimp and 75 beansprouts and onions. The shrimp were also cut in half not sure If this was to give the impression of more shrimp but for $16 I'd expect more shrimp. Not sure if the quality is different when eating in as this was a bite squad/delivery order.
One of my favorite Thai Fried Rice place. The one I usually get is the Crispy Pork Belly Fried Rice, for take out. The portion is a good amount. If one day down the line they decided to lower the portion, I would not be sure if I would order anymore. Also their Pho is great too. But it would be great if for take out, they included just a bit more broth. I found the broth not enough most of the time I order for take out Pho.
Very good food, and listens to special instructions. I’ve gotten great food and service while dining in and taking out several times. My favorite is the combination pho no pork belly. Very flavorful broth and I never have to add fish sauce. I also enjoy their fried rice and fried chicken. Every once and a while I also order their Kapoon and it tastes delicious. Whenever I’m craving Burmese Ohn no khao swè Coconut noodles and don’t have quick access to some I always order some kapoon from eastside Thai as a replacement. Of course it is not the same, but gets the job done. Their kapoon is on the savory side rather than the bitter side which I enjoy. It is really up to your taste preference. Though I usually don’t order the pad thai, my father enjoys it extra spicy and orders it often. There is usually a diverse group of people who eat here, and I don’t remember ever feeling discriminated against at Eastside Thai. Definitely one of my East side favorites!
Don’t know where all the high reviews are coming from. Maybe dinning in is better than pick-up or delivery. I ordered $90 worth of food and am disappointed in all the dishes. Everything was salty. Only thing that was decent was the fried chicken wings and sticky rice.
