Such a pretty place, it's a lake but looks like an ocean. Very beautiful... Visit on a sunny day to enjoy it best because it gets really cold when you are close to the shore. You can see people coming here for walk along with their pets. A fun track just like treasure hunt in a forest and then coming to find such a breathtaking view. Visited here twice ....still can't get over...Loved it...
City within a Park: Best description of all parks in Toronto this one is up there. They have a bird sanctuary but I did not see too many birds. Wish they had more portable potties there or at least one in the parking lot.
A Little Known Toronto - Scarborough Park We love East Point Park for family adventures. Nestled along the Lake Ontario shores between Morningside Road and Port Union Road lies this little oasis. East Point Park has everything you need for a nice day with your family or a great way to spend the day with friends or your partners. It just happens to be one of Toronto's largest parkland areas along the City's east waterfront. Did you know It is also a migratory staging area for monarch butterflies and over 178 species of birds. There are many trails to explore and the park also has two level softball centre pavilion, washrooms, showers, change-rooms, umpire room, indoor lounge and outdoor patio. This is also one of the Parks that run along the Scarborough Bluffs. Like many of the parks along the water, there is always a nice cool breeze coming off the lake even on the hottest, muggiest days. Just off the trials, you can make way down to the beach, part sandy and part rocky shore. It's great for wading and calling off but be careful of the waves and the currents, there are warning signs everywhere, so swim at your own risk. You can also bring chairs and food so you can spend the day chilling out. East Point Park is a great way to spend the day.
East Point Park features some of Toronto’s most scenic views of the Lake Ontario shoreline. Facing Pickering, its east hill provides the optimal place to watch the sunrise, and it is not uncommon to watch parasailers launching off. Following the grassy trail along the Scarborough bluffs, Bluffer’s Park 8km and the CN Tower 23km can also be seen in the distance. East Point Park is the natural habitat for a variety of wildlife, including birds, butterflies, deer, and foxes. Perfect place for a picnic in the Summer!
A hidden little park area that really spreads out with trails and places to explore. Head down a paved path towards the lake and find a small sandy beach area or climb the nearby hill for a spectacular view. Parking on site and free of charge.
Unfortunately the bridge is out heading east so the really limits the ability to explore. Otherwise great views. A climb to the top of the hill beside the parking lot will reward you with some nice views.
We are very fortunate to be living in Scarborough...we have this beautiful East Point Park short drive from home. It's a great place to go, alone or with friends. Today, we were with friends from North York who had to travel a good distance to get to this scenic beauty. We climbed to the top of the hill & just took in the beautiful lake, swans swimming, a boat on the horizon, sea gulls doing their thing, geese flying just a foot above the water & through all this, the lake was still, silent and emerald green and clear! Oh what a beautiful sunny afternoon walk with great friends....that's us in the pic, while our wives were clicking the pics.
A beautiful park with a ton of places to explore. Right next to a water treatment plant, has free parking. Butterflies, birds, mushrooms and views of the lake. This place has it all, really pretty during the summer.
Nice place for walking with beautiful lake views. On east side, well paved wide trails towards Port Union. On west, natural wooded trails.
Awsome part of the water front trail, currently there is construction and you can't pass Highland Creek from this end during the time of the post June 11 2022. Just a heads up.
