East Ithaca Preschool

Story

Founded in 1924, East Ithaca Preschool is Ithaca's oldest cooperative preschool. We are proud of our school; the educational opportunities it provides our children, and the community it brings our twenty-some families. Our professional teacher, Mrs. Foote, has an unsurpassed level of energy and dedication to children and their education. When this enthusiasm is combined with the talents and experiences of our member families, the educational experience is not only of the highest level but most memorable.

Mission

EIP was established with the belief that it is crucial for young children to begin their
educational lives by developing their social skills as well as participating in gently
structured group activities and free play. They learn to respect differences, listen and express themselves, collaborate and form community, in a multiage, supportive and fun environment under the guidance of an experienced teacher aided by member parents.
