Brought my Father in law in. 85 years old, having trouble breathing due to COPD. Basically put in a room after doing an x-ray and left for hours. 1 chair in the room so that left me standing all that time. My FIL is partially deaf and suffering from dementia so I was unable to leave him to find a place to sit. Because they claimed he was symptomatic for COVID due to his shortness of breath, his one so called symptom, we couldn't even open the door to get so air in the room. The one time we did step out we were told off. Nurses were extremely rude and seemed more concerned about the possibility of getting COVID then about patient care. I understand that COVID is bad but that is not the only reason for patient care.
I came to the ER Feb.20th. due to complications with trying to catch a breath.nDr.Young and the nurse's that treated me were great.nFortunately for me the ER was open that day as I am not sure if I could have made the drive to Ashern... Let's keep this hospital open full time to care for individuals within the Eriksdale area and allow the great staff to continue to care for us.
