We took an awesome tour of the distillery with one of the owners, Keith. He was very friendly and personable, shared the history of their building and its roots as a barracks for a WWII army WAC base, and taught us all about making brandy. And, no surprise, the brandy is fantastic! This is a unique stop in Walla Walla, highly recommended.
On October 22nd, a group of 8 of us went to DW Distilling after the hot air balloon festival was cancelled in Walla Walla, WA. We met Craig there, and had the place to ourselves. He gave us an informative tour and explanation about distilling and how DW makes their Brandy's. We then retired to the WWII history museum/tasting room. As we tasted the Brandy, Craig explained that the airfield where the distillery is located was a training base for WWII pilots and aircrews during the war. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Craig...and the Brandy was excellent as well. We heartily recommend you stop by!!!
Fantastic brandy! I visited in December and had a great time talking to Craig about their story, how brandy is made, where they source their wine from, and the future that they envision for DW Distilling! I highly recommend checking them out in the Airport Wine District of Walla Walla!
What a treat! DW Distilling takes delicious wines from nearby Walla Walla wineries and turns it into even more delicious brandy. It was fascinating to taste the differences between brandies from different types of wine. Craig, the owner, led our tasting and he is very friendly, knowledgeable, and interesting. He not only knows all about wine and brandy, but also about the area's history. We were able to observe the actual distilling process and see the barrels where each batch was aging. We'll definitely go again next time we are in town!
LOVED this place! Small venue, very cool origin story, great guys, great atmosphere, great brandy! The distilling is amazing. Small batch, where every batch had its own story, is unique and is its own experience and un-recreatable. So cool! The distillers are friendly and approachable and make you feel like friends immediately. Will 100% revisit and recommend! Also, don’t pass the Willys without at least having a look!
What a great place. Lovely brandy, turns over frequently. Meant to highlight local Walla Walla wine. Owned by great folks who are also Shakespearean actors.
