My agents are telling me to choose Centennial collage but after reading the reviews I would like to change my decision to Durham. Hey Durham College :) I used to go to Centennial College before I transferred here; it was the worst place, in my opinion, to get a college education. Once I transferred to Durham College, I ended up really liking the environment, freedom and awesome teachers I had in the business programs. There are a few things I would change about DC, like the mandatory payments for resources that some (or many) students don't really use (Riot Radio, Flex, bus passes, etc...), but the overall educational setting here, and how seamless the facilities were for students was pretty awesome. There are goods and bads everywhere, but I can honestly say I liked it here, and it's worthy of the 5 star rating. You guys did an awesome job.

Durham is a very unique school. Overall I enjoyed my time here. Every single teacher was amazing. They were extremely engaging to a point where they wanted to spend their own personal time with the students and really persevered to make sure we would find careers after our studies. I never had an experience like this with a teacher before. I had some difficulties with the course and they were flexible with ways for me to progress. The best part of this school hands down is the social aspect. There are so many ways to meet people and I made a ton of friends because of the interlinking with UOIT. I joined an intramural sport held every week along with some clubs (and even made my own) which was an absolute blast. Even the health department excelled! There were downsides however that I would like to mention but again, the school itself was great (nobody's perfect). The administration process of the courses, clubs, etc was too bureaucratic. Not to say they weren't nice and helpful, but it wasn't smooth. Finding 15 students to start a club when I just started wasn't easy (with many unnecessary meetings) and I had tutors that couldn't help me with my studies, resulting in a refund and extra negotiating with teachers. On campus residence was also a wild experience. I had to change through many roommates due to hygiene and noise issues but eventually it worked out. Regardless this is an amazing school and if you are considering, should give it a try. Out of all the schools I've attended, this is hands down the best!

I love Durham College, every time I need help their has the best employees at the campus. I like the was that everything is well organized, and clear to see where all the places are located. Even getting from class to class is a snap. Everyone that goes to Durham College is so nice. Thanks to Durham College for getting me an opportunity to attend your institution.

If you work often with an non-flexible schedule, suffer from any sort of mental illness. Or just plain in simple struggle in school. Then this is not the school for you. Let me explain, first I struggle with Depression (diagnosed) which makes it quite hard to get up due to its crippling ability on me. However, I also work two jobs into order to not only pay for schooling but as well as pay for living, which is usually 85% of the reason why I am absent. When I was threatened by teachers that I was going to fail their course due to my absences, I contacted a student adviser in order to try to work something out as the teachers where not being flexible on the matter. However it was brought to my attention that not only do the teachers not care about the money, time and energy you put in but the adviser (at least mine) didn't either. Telling me that I should either just drop out, or try to get my two jobs to be more flexible. Second, as stated above it is obvious that most teachers are their only for the paycheck. That their lack of 'caring' is very recognizable. Now I am not saying that all don't care, no about 4 of my 12 actually care about you, the class and the education behind it. However, being brought up about personal emails in front of the entire class in order to belittle you is embarrassing and makes me angry. Telling you in a 'niceish' manner that 'that is to bad for you' is immature and lacking support. Taking 4 weeks and 6 emails to reply to a single one in a quick and rude manner, is obviously that you don't care about me, nor mine and others education. Third, in December of 2016 I received notice that I would be leaving the Country for a business trip in April, however they didn't come out with the dates until late January, the dates I had no control over. So as soon as I found out I contacted all of my teachers informing them of my absence, some replied, some didn't. Luckily it was the week before most of the exams were. One of my classes the teacher (one of the the 4) thankfully arranged for me to take my final after I returned informing me that it was 'against the schools wishes'. While another teacher, gladly let me fail the class informing me that it was 'an unacceptable excuse', replying only 2 weeks before my trip which was 4 emails and over 2 months later. I of course furious contacted the Dean, who simply told me to call and make an appointment. I called 4 times and never received a single call back . This school; unless you are lucky to have a flexible schedule, teachers that actually care and a easy flowing money, or even a 'likable' personality that teachers may favor over. It's a waste of time, money and energy. I wish I had gone with my first choice, and unless I receive an email about my current want to change my course, I will be taking my time, energy and money elsewhere.
