It might look similar to many other coastal areas in Newfoundland. However, once you see it, you realize how special it is. Probably a sunrise would be a better time to visit and light up the rocks. All three spots I shared in my images are minutes away from each other by car, and the place is not very crowded. There is no personal to watch over you. Be careful as you climb the rocks. The cliffs are very steep and dangerous. Enjoy!
One of Mother Nature's miracles not to be missed! Sitting across the waves from Cape Bonavista Lighthouse, the Dungeon offers a peaceful spot to watch the birds, whales and waves while you wonder how this place came to be. As a child, my friends and I used to climb all over the surrounding rocks, which still offer a challenge for those who dare. But be careful. Slippery When Wet!
Absolutely beautiful. Don’t let Google maps take you through the farmers field lol When exiting turn right and follow the shoreline towards the lighthouse. Bring some carrots for the horses :-
Great view that can be accessed right next to the parking lot. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.
Amazing rock formations! The dungeon sea cave is right next to the road so the payoff is immediate as soon as you park your car.
Such a cool place to visit! You can easily do the dungeon and the lighthouse at the end of the road in the same little trip. You might even spot some wild horses about!
Breathtaking and beautiful. Perfect spot for a picnic or just to take in that perfect view.
Drive right up and there it is! Gorgeous and easy to access. There is a short cut over to Cape Spear lighthouse by crossing the cattle grate.
A must go-see. The views are out of this world. A quiet place to get lost. And found.
Great display of the wonders of land meeting sea. Good information on signs and safe walkway for viewing.
