My girlfriend and I were staying down the street and came across this spot in Chinatown across from Market Square. It's pretty small with maybe three tables and bar seating. In total I'd say the restaurant can seat around 20 people max. We ordered the Vegan Dumplings and Pork Dumplings. Both orders were actually not what I expected. I'm used to having steam or pan fried dumplings. These seemed almost deep friend since the wrap was fully crisp like a deep friend Wonton. Still good though and I'd order them again. Both came in like a spicy hoisin/peanut sauce. Overall it's worth a stopover for a quick bite. Their apparel is really cool and I would have bought something if there wasn't any labelling on the back. I just wanted something that said Dumpling Drop in the chest.
Amazing find in Victoria. Very juicy and plump fried dumplings. Very tasty. We tried the lemongrass chicken and the seasoning was on point. I would try asking for the sauce on the side because it can at times be overwhelming. Also wished they had more selections for dine in. They have a huge one for frozen dumplings.
Amazing flavor! The size and amount is small but the flavor makes up for it. It’s more for a snack? To have a full meal you will to order 2-3 orders. Great frozen option to take home to make. The customer service is great
I had been waiting to try this place out for a year - but it unfortunately did not meet my expectations. We ordered the Classic Vegan Dumplings, which are deep fried. When the plate arrived the dumplings looked like they had been over fried and then doused in chili sauce. I expected the dumplings to be hot as they looked so fried, but they were lukewarm at best, suggesting that they were fried and then sat on a rack for a while… The flavour was overpowered by the chili oil, and one of the five dumplings had barely any filling. $8 for 5 small, over fried dumplings was just too expensive. We were planning on ordering from their Thai dinner menu as well, but after the dumplings, we decided to go elsewhere. It was just really disappointing, as I love the branding and the story behind the place. I would like to return to get frozen dumplings and steam them on my own.
We went there because we fancied dim sums and of the good reviews but we were disappointed as it's a thai place after 6pm and the only dumplings they were serving were fried... The 2 only good things: the chicken wings and the thai iced coffee.
We got 5 dishes to share between two people, and I think it came out to a little more than $40. All in all, everything was tasty and service was nice for a takeout place, but nothing was authentic or positively mind blowing, especially given the price. I'd go back if I was in the area and wanted a quick bite.
unfortunately, I found it to be a bit lack luster in terms of flavors n perception of value. it is what it is in terms of service being a takeaway counter and that's fine. Not a place to go for a "restaurant experience " if that's what you are after. Usually a small hole in the wall place with very little to no frills will have the best food and be experts in their genre, especially when it's to be primarily one item menu focus. I politely suggest they put the same energy the put into there branding and merchandising into there food instead
Heaven on earth for dumpling lovers! Everything on their menu that we tried was outstanding; the dumplings are lightly fried and crispy, but also moist and juicy inside! The chicken baos were to die for and the sticky rice with mango delicious! Ps they also have really cool merch and frozen dumplings to go! We came here on their one year anniversary pure coincidence. Congratulations on your anniversary and we will definitely be back very soon!
I got the pork belly dumplings and the Brussel sprouts. Both were incredibly flavorful. Quick and fabulous service. The staff was so helpful with suggestions. Liked the dumplings so much I ordered frozen ones to take home.
An absolute must visit in Victoria. Happy hour special is inexpensive, delish and won't ruin your appetite for dinner. make it your afternoon stop for some of Vic's best dumplings, bao and peanut sauce oh the peanut sauce and a draft of Sapporo for $10. Can't beat this place.Food: 5/5
