Overall, the atmosphere at this place was pleasant, and the customer service was top-notch. However, I was a bit disappointed with the flavors of the ice cream. I ordered strawberry, but it tasted overwhelmingly sweet with little actual strawberry flavor. My friend had the coconut, which also lacked depth in flavor and felt overly sugary. Sadly, based on our experience, we're not inclined to visit again.
Visited 3 times and I will go back again soon enough because I'm in loved with the strawberry cheesecake flavour. I try to make myself choose different flavours whenever I visit and none of them disappoint me but strawberry cheesecake is #1 for sure. Cute arts on the wall by enthusiastic fans and the staff write down which flavours are available on the board as well. I literally live in Richmond and I made my boyfriend drove all the way to Surrey just for ice cream have you seen the gas price recently.
Great ice cream. We tried the strawberry shortcake and the cookies and cream. Strawberry shortcake was LOADED with strawberries and cookies and cream had visible chunks of cookie. Just a bit disappointed that this spot doesn’t offer samples.
I'd been wanting to try Duke's Fine Ice Cream for quite awhile as I'd read rave reviews about the place. We finally had a chance to drop by, and so we ordered a flight which comes with four different flavors of ice cream. For our four flavors, we chose:nnS'moresnRose PistachionMint Chocolate ChipnHoney LavendernnI really wanted to love this place as I'd heard so much about it, but I have to admit...it really fell short of my expectations. The ice cream is good and still a great treat for anyone who's in the neighbourhood to stop by for. It just wasn't as good as people had made it out to be. The flavors were quite subtle and not as pronounced as I would have liked them to be. Rose Pistachio was the best of the four flavors. Even in this one though, I felt that the flavors could have been stronger. I'd had pistachio and lavender gelato elsewhere, earlier in the summer and the flavors were much more distinct than they were here at Duke's Fine Ice Cream.nnService: GoodnParking: Free parking on the streetnLocation: 6758 188 St. #104, Surrey
What happened to this place?? nWent into this place yesterday, June 11th around 8pm..nFirst off, it has a very strange/unpleasant smell.n- the girls working there looked at us annoyed and one even gave her co-worker the side eye at us not sure why?n- When I asked which flavours were available she rudely pointed to a small paper. their menu is a printed out piece of paper on a glass in the corner.n- there’s a tip option on the machine.. I did not tip as 1. This is not a restaurant with customer service and 2. The service was horrible. Once I paid $18 for two bowels!! Outrageous prices!! I said thank you and the girl rolled her eyes at me. I hate the entitlement of workers that think they are entitled to a tip just because the option is there, and even when they are rude.n- and lastly and maybe most importantly… the ice cream was HORRIBLE! I had the coffee with chocolate swirls and baileys one. The coffee did not have any chocolate in it.. and didn’t even taste like coffee. The baileys tasted like sugary vanilla.nMy husband had mint which tasted like they dumped mint extract and green food colouring into a bowel, and cookies and cream. The cookies and cream looked like it had been over blended and sitting in a tub for months.nHorrible flavours, totally artificial.nHorrible customer experience, entitled rude young women.nHorrible smell.nHorrible price.nHorrible aesthetics. The place looks like a storage room at a bar.nI remember coming here when it first opened and having a lovely experience…. Wow how it’s gone downhill.nAs my partner and I were discussing the experience, someone walking past us even stopped and said “ yeah that’s why locals stopped going there.”nEven a random stranger knew to stay away.nHope they can improve and get back to serving natural tasting good ice cream with good customer service.nBut for now, avoid this place.
