We recently had our wedding and we got our wedding cake from Dufflet Pastries. The staffs are very friendly and helpful, especially Edie who helped us with our wedding cake consultation. The cake design was beautiful, the cake was delicious, and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend the pastry shop for wedding cakes!
The best pastries I've had in Toronto! The presentation is top notch, the service is gentle, the prices reasonable. But the most important thing is the taste - sweet and rich without overwhelming. Most sweet baked goods and pastries in North America are full of sugar and super sweet. Theirs are balanced and you can actually taste the different components. I had the double chocolate tart and it was perfect. Next time I'll take one home, warm it, and eat with vanilla ice cream. Then I can die a happy man!
This review does not reflect upon the taste of any of the cakes because, unfortunately, the order I placed last Saturday by phone was never written down by any of the staff. The occasion for which I ordered the cake was my girlfriend's birthday; I am now left seeking an alternative and am incredibility disappointed since I recognize that most locations likely won't provide a unique, satisfactory-quality cake in such a short time. I regret leaving such a low rating, but unfortunately I have experienced the service to be extremely unreliable. Edit May 27th 2018: Since posting my review, Dufflet has contacted me and gave me a chance to try out their cakes. This time, I had no issues with ordering did it online and when I tried out the cakes, they were both fantastic. I'm glad I gave Dufflet another chance. They make great cakes.
This Dufflet location has been the my family's default bakery of choice for the past few years. We've tried many cheesecakes Blueberry Lemon is awesome, layer cakes, and pies. My personal favourite continues to be the chocolate banana traditional classic cake.
The cake was so good! I had the Vanilla with the buttercream icing. The buttercream was so smooth. Not too sweet and it was delicious with the taste of vanilla. Also the price is so good compared to the artisan cake that look nice but dont taste nearly as good. All the guests were impressed.
Couldn't ask for a better wedding cake - it's was dubbed "divine" by our guests! We really appreciated that Duffelts worked with our budget and design. They didn't try to over sell us or any of the non-sense. They also didn't refuse to do out cake because it wasn't a five tier over-the-top cake. Thank you so much! We have already planned on ordering a mini version of our cake for our wedding anniversary.
Ordered cake for my wife's birthday by phone. The lady asked if I want to have happy birthday written on it, and i agreed. Upon pick up, i found out the happy birthday chocolate label is $5 extra. I wish that I was told upon ordering, I would probably passed on it. Cake was delicious however.
We picked this place for our daughters wedding cake. Amazing cake mastery and great service. Not inexpensive but better to buy at this Dufflet Store rather than Loblaws who also carry's their products. They mark it up approximately 20%.
Lemon pie, Tiramisu, White & Choc Celebration Cake all disappointing. Heavy handed flavor and chunky unrefined cake texture. I was hoping for a delicate exquisite fine crumb moist cake. Lemon pie was overly sweet and the crust awfully heavy and dense like cardboard. Tiramisu was underwhelming after tasting so many authentic cakes myself in Italy 2018. I have tried several items from this location over the past year....Keep working at the recipes Dufflet : /
Need a cake? Go here! One of the best local bakeries in the city with multiple locations. Ms. Dufflet is a local entrepreneur-baker. Dufflet makes custom cakes, small cakes, round cakes, tartlettes, pastries, cookies, gift baskets, wedding cakes.... what else can you ask for? You never have to second guess the freshness. There's always a little crowd in the store when I'm there waiting in line for a purchase. There's always more than one person working behind the counter so service is pretty swift. Highly recommended.
