This restaurant was a little deceiving at first impression on the website. I thought the restaurant was more of a cocktail jazz piano bar but I was pleasantly surprised that the talented performers had a huge repertoire of music from popular top 40 songs to classics. The reservation experience was a bit inconvenient for out of town people. You have to make reservation via the website. Then you have to wait for an email to get confirmation. Then they call you to confirm again on the day of your reservation. The restaurant is quite large so I was surprised that you needed a reservation. But I don’t think this restaurant is open regularly and noticed that it is the place to go for celebrations and large groups. First impressions, the décor seemed a bit confusing. Though it looked trendy and upscale, it still looked to me like a pub with all the TV’s. So I wasn’t sure if it was trying to be a classy dining restaurant with a hostess who takes you in or a pub for beer drinking guys to hang out at. We were very impressed with the multi-faceted performers. They were young, talented and very versatile at playing the songs on the piano, guitar and drums. They were able to play top 40 pop songs really rhythmically on the piano. The menu needs better selection of healthy food. A lot of the appies were deep fried which didn’t leave us much choice. I would like to see better selection low calorie, healthy appies. The drinks were reasonably priced happy hour price but I think I ended up ordering some doubles. Martini cocktails were very strong. Great selection of drinks though. It was a really great experience overall. Lots of fun and they embraced Canadians. But you may want to tip in US dollars. I give it 5 stars for entertainment and drinks but only 2 stars for food. So to be fair overall, I would give it a 3.
It makes for a fun and entertaining night. The pianists are very engaging, entertaining, and fun! Make sure to have cash to request songs or just give them a tip. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. The service was great, very attentive and welcoming. I will certainly return
2 stars: 4 for the entertainment, 0 for the buffet. Thought it would be a fun place to go for our anniversary. Huge disappointment. The buffet was absolutely horrible. We couldn't tell what half of the selections were. Everything looked dried up and left over. And we were one of the first people to go through the buffet. I got sick and our wonderful waitress brought me a ginger ale. It didn't help and we left early. It's kind of insulting that management would take your money and then put out such slop and expect you to eat it. They need to read the reviews and do something about it. It's hard to enjoy the talented musicians when the food you just ate made you sick! It's good that they automatically add the gratuity or else most people would take it out on the servers.
I always have a great time! The piano players are always super entertaining. The food is amazing too!
Awesome place. If you love music that everyone knows and love to have fun this is the spot to be. The food is amazingly delicious and there is alot of it too. The waitstaff is polite and very attentive. Drinks ate good too. I would recommend this place to my friends and family. I will definitely be visiting this awesome place again. The music played by the dueling piano was from a wide rage from oldies to present day music. The crowd is also mixed and dress is casual which is awesome. The atmosphere is also perfect too. This is a must see and visit..
Went with a group of 10 on St. Patrick's Day and I have to say that this was the highlight of our weekend! The staff is exceptionally nice and pretty quick considering the amount of customers they had that night. Terri is absolutely wonderful as she greeted us in and to our table also checked on us 3 times to make sure we were taken care of. The pianists are hilarious and also good at performing. We did not eat but drinks were reasonably priced. If you go, plan to go with a nice size group of people and be ready to suggest fun songs!
We went here for New Years Eve. What a fantastic place! The music was good and there was plenty of comedy to keep things interesting. I did wish they had a snack menu. When we were there, they were only offering dinner which looked really good, but we had already ate. I do agree with some of the other reviews about the slow service. I don't know if some of the staff called off for NYE or what. We had a table near the bar, so I just walked over there and got our drinks. The bartender appreciated the tips. I would recommend Duel if you are going out for the night and want something different to do. I will definitely be going back soon.
My wife and I went to Duel aka Michigan Beer company for the first time and the experience was pleasant. We like the food, taste and size as well the price as well. You will be surprise how big the share is! The selection is also pretty good too. On the night we went they had live music and that’s also quite cool. The two guys are good but their song choices are limited.
We stopped here randomly on our way home from the Fox. We didn't have a reservation but they made sure to find us a great table. The staff were wonderful. The atmosphere was great n we laughed n enjoyed every moment. What a fun place! So glad we stopped in :
The piano players were fantastic and the atmosphere and ambiance added to the experience. Food was good, but nothing noteworthy. Being part of MI beer company, allows you to enjoy a large varieties of beers!!!
