This place seems to have a nice culture and I really feel like we have been cared for quite well. Even though I don't often go unless it's necessary, this place is my first choice.

Good morning; Site Leader, Nancy Guntrip, I hope this letter finds you well and in great health. This letter is one of gratitude to the people in all areas that took some part in the care of me while I was in hospital. It is always amazing to me how a hospital or organization has so many moving parts to make it work seamlessly. However, without caring people who take pride in their work this would not be possible. From the people that clean the hospital, to the ones that cook the food, to the people who deliver it, to the ones that do the laundry, to the security staff. To the leaders of this hospital that make all these moving parts and people work together so seamless that I am sure I have forgotten people in this thank you letter. I want to thank you all for without what you all do, my surgery would not have been as successful and my recovery would have been longer. To the ones that I was blessed with the day of my surgery in regards to my nurses. WOW!!!! AMAZING!!! Truly gifted caregivers. Their compassion and no-nonsense way of doing things with complete proficiency was outstanding. Right from the moment I walked in the hospital doors with the admittance staff, to the nurse that walked me through my first steps of getting ready for my surgery. (Sorry, I am not aware of her name, but thankful I got her. She was so calm and matter of fact, it calmed me and my nerves.  ) To the nurses, Dee, Oxana ( I hope that I spelt it correctly), Amanda, and others whose names I don’t know, I can’t say enough good things about these nurses that were responsible for me during my stay. They were so professional with genuine caring attitude; they walked me through everything that I needed to know and do every step of my recovery. They were positive and a pleasure to be around. Truly outstanding nurses. I wanted to make sure that I didn’t forget the nurse in the Operating room, Netty. (I believe is her name, I sincerely hope I didn’t get her name wrong.) For she was truly my blessing, with how she walked through everything with me and answered all my questions with grace and a little humour before and after my surgery. Which totally calmed me down. I was truly blessed that day of surgery and the time I spent recovering with the nurses that were in charge of me. To my anesthesiologist, Dr. Poulsen, I wanted to thank you so much for your patience with me and your professionalism. You made my surgery go so smoothly, I truly appreciate you and what you do. To my wonderful doctor, Dr. Maeska, I deeply appreciate you and what you do. So grateful that I found you, in my hour of need (sort of speaking). I truly appreciate your talent and gifts as a doctor with your gentleness and graciousness as a human being. Thank you so very much. So, I just wanted you to know how much I truly am grateful for your hospital and to the staff that work there. It is amazing to watch talented gracious professional people work cohesively together, no matter the difficult circumstances or the personality challenges or environment. For working in a hospital with people who are in physical, emotional, spiritual need is never easy at the best of times. I am grateful as a person in this country, in this province, in this town to have such amazing gifted professional caregivers working at the Drumheller Hospital. So this is my sincere gratitude for all that you do, and all though there are days that seem like no one appreciates you all and what you do for people who need you in time of crisis and show you very little respect at times; know this, I do appreciate you and am so grateful for what you contribute at this hospital. Sincerely, T Quiring
