The gentleman who waited on me--presumably the owner--has a bit of a temper. He had not posted anywhere that I should not bring my bike inside if not for a repair. But I had forgotten my lock and, besides I only wished to grab a coffee and get out of there, especially when he grabbed my bike away from me and moved it to the other end of the shop, explaining that he had a few guests arriving. There were none in sight. Okay, fair enough. It's his business. He can say and do what he wants. But the bike he grabbed away from me was attached to a pair of headphones, wrapped around my hand. (Now they're broken. Thanks for the silent trip home, sir.) I wish the owner all the luck in his venture. I really do. But I'd like to remind him nobody deserves to be the lightning rod for his bad energy. In customer service It's always a good idea to suck wind and calm down before saying what you really think of someone, is it not? Or is being surly the new normal? Some people will love this place. I get that. But if the owner really needed customers he would treat them more equally.

My wife and I met up with my sisters and brother-in-law for a bike ride in the area before attending a wedding the next day. The owner of Driftless Bike and Bean was very helpful and friendly. To my pleasure, Lock and Dam 6 is just a few blocks away, so I got to watch a barge manage the locks on its way to St. Louis. We bought our passes and headed south for a few miles. The highlights were Lock and Dam 6, which is a few blocks from the shop, and a Hopewell (Indian) burial mound. We ended our adventure with some delicious ice cream and coffee. Recommended!!

Had a coffee of the day, was great; good flavour and hot not to acidic. Nice location, wifi, inside and outside seating, bike repair and trail information. Nice people inside. Cheers.

My friends bike got a flat tire on our way back to LaCrosse. Brad came to the head of the trail, picked up my friend and her bike, fixed the flat and we were back on the trail. He was very kind and while we waited had some delicious ice cream so the flat tire was not all bad.

Great coffee and amazing service. Had a flat while biking the Great River Trail, and my sister and I got back on the road quickly!
