Drake Devonshire

So I called Drake on a last minute whim so see if I could surprise my wife with a night out of the city on her birthday. Jonathan was the Drake representative who picked up my lifeline and saved me. He is incredible! Getting there - an easy 2hr trek out to Prince Edward county from downtown TO. No problem. The rooms - all unique, quiet and extremely well appointed. If your a design nerd you will love it. The grounds - Right on the water and 4 iron away from the main strip. Some interesting spots to paruse the games room/library, beach, photo booth! The restaurant - Is a top notch experience, on par with the very best Toronto has to offer. Many of the ingredients are from local farms and you can taste the difference. The service - A+ all around.

Great view of the Lake. Got seated relatively quickly for a busy Saturday brunch menu service. Overall, service was prompt and attentive. Food was decent, chicken and waffles were crispy albeit would have preferred the maple syrup on the side so it didn't soak through the waffles. The chilli's in the waffles were a nice spicy and sweet touch. Great place to stop by and grab bite and relax on the patio. Worth the stop over.

I have visited the Drake Devonshire twice now to eat at the restaurant and both times i was highly impressed with the service, food and of course the stunning views. The second time I visited we were seated outside and our server even brought out blankets for us when the sun went down and it started to cool down. Drink selection is also very unique and dessert is not to be missed. Worth a trip to visit this spot, even if you can't get a spot in the hotel , go and have some drinks and look out on the gorgeous patio.

I didn't stay here, I just ate at the restaurant Beautiful location, right by the lake. Getting a booking might be tough as its very busy. The location and the decor are a huge draw, they are so pretty. We ate at the restaurant, the service was exceptional and so were the drinks. The food was above average but was overshadowed by the decor, service and drinks. The burger, truffle fries, corn, oysters and deserts were superb.

A wonderful place. Beautiful views, great food, great drink, great staff, wonderful rooms. There is no one thing about the Drake Devonshire that makes it special, it is all the little details like the bleachers or the ping pong table or the photo booth or the fire pit (when it isn't under water) that come together to make for an unforgettable place. Great for just a drink on the patio or a full meal. Check it out.
