I have recently had a frankly horrific experience with Dr. Rachel Navaneelan & Associates. I visited in August for a routine checkup and cleaning. I was told I needed 5 fillings, and since I have never had a negative experience with a dentist before, I trusted Dr. Navaneelan and booked the 5 fillings to be done in 2 separate visits the following month. Shortly after the second visit, I realized that one of the fillings was causing me significant pain. This pain amplified to the point that I was unable to eat on the left side of my mouth. When I called Dr. Navaneelan's office multiple times and finally got ahold of someone, I was told there was no space to see me. Eventually they were able to squeeze me in, and I had my first bite adjustment performed without numbing, which was extremely painful. This first bite adjustment did nothing. It should be noted here that no one ever answers the phone when you call, so you have to either keep calling and leaving increasingly desperate messages, or wait 2-3 days for someone to call you back. After endless calls, I got an appointment for my second bite adjustment, which I was thankfully numbed for, but was still quite painful. Dr. Navaneelan suggested that I get a bite guard, and said that me grinding my teeth at night was exacerbating the pain of the filling. I was told to wait two weeks to see if this second bite adjustment helped, and book an appointment to have a bite guard fitted in the meantime. I went in to have a mold taken of my teeth for a bite guard a week later, and then called after the two weeks were up because my tooth was still just as painful as ever. I was now advised that Dr. Navaneelan would not do any more bite adjustments until I got the bite guard. I went in to have my bite guard fitted a few weeks later, toward the end of November, and they realized it didn't fit properly, so another mold was taken to have a new bite guard made. About a week after this, I received a call that the new mold had frozen in the truck to the lab, so I needed to go back for a digital scan of my teeth. This was now mid December and I still couldn’t eat on the left side of my mouth. At the end of this appointment for the digital scan, I was rudely told by a receptionist that I would need to pay $500 that day, and it was an error that I hadn't been charged up until then. When I advised that I had insurance, I was told that I would need to prove that they would cover it, even though it was Dr. Navaneelan's office themselves who had told me my insurance would cover it. I was incredulous, and after going to the back for a few moments, the receptionist returned and told me that she would 'allow' me to be billed when the bite guard arrived, but I would now be charged extra because it wouldn't arrive until the new year, and the prices were going up in 2023. This was the straw that broke my back. I went home and after thinking about it, called to cancel the bite guard and all upcoming appointments for myself and my family. The receptionist I spoke to seemed surprised, and suggested the price increase didn't matter because "it's not you paying, it's your insurance." This comment really told me everything I need to know. I went to another who was quickly and easily able to tell that Dr. Navaneelan had actually cracked my tooth when she put the filling in. Now I am going through the process of having a crown placed to try to save the tooth. I wish I had never trusted this establishment with my teeth, and I would certainly recommend anyone reading these reviews to seek another dentist.
Always remember to smile. Rachel loves everyone. She’s not just a dentist. She a superstar! Always thinking of what .when ,where and What is going on. She keeps giving and giving. Her time her precious smiles to everyone! Especially the Kids. We are all good hands. Love you xo
I've been meaning to write this review for awhile. My family trusted this location for many years before we began having problems. During every single checkup, we were told we had new cavities, although we didn't question it. My family spent an insane amount of money here to get cavities fixed and I'm not even certain we had any. It bothers me to think my teeth were drilled into for financial purposes only. On this one occasion, my brother's lip got cut open by one of the dentists. I was also pressured to remove my wisdom teeth from my first day there, before they even became a problem. My family ended up switching to a new dentistry and have not been told to have cavities since. I also switched to another dentist when I moved and was told I had none although I could have sworn I was told differently here before I left. I do not trust this dentistry and neither should you.
I was in for an appointment to have my front teeth restored dr Karen and her assistant did amazing work. My teeth were in bad shape and looked awful. After 45 minutes in the chair my smile was greatly improved. The procedure was painless and it really improved my confidence in my smile. Many thanks to everyone at the office. The women at reception were polite courteous and professional and dr Karen is truly a skilled gifted talented dentist. I have never had a better dental experience in my life. Thankyou very much
I had yet another excellent visit at Dr. Navaneelan's office today. Her skills saved one of my teeth and it was done painlessly. As always, her staff, including the always happy Jennifer, Angela, Shawna, and Laurie, treated me with respect and kindness. Both my wife and I feel very fortunate to have such a superb professional taking care of our dental needs.
This dental office is absolutely amazing. The employees are very friendly. The were very sanitary during this pandemic. It's clear that they truly care about their patients. Definitely worth every star on thus review. Bravo Dr. Navaneleen and fellow employees.
I have had a wonderful experience at this clinic. There are many suites for multiple appointments at one time. I find this extremely helpful with 4 children and myself as we aren't in the office for more then an hour to have all our appointments. The staff is absolutely fantastic both professional and kind. You get reminders of up coming appointments and there are televisions at each station to easy anyone's mind if like me the dentist isn't your favorite thing.
As someone with a phobia of the dentist, everyone from the receptionist to Navaneelan herself makes sure i’m comfortable and know what’s going on at all time’s. Everyone is so kind and welcoming and more importantly- for me- take their time working on my teeth so i don’t have a panic attack. Would recommend Dr Navaneelan’s to anyone and everyone!
I called to make an appointment for an emergency extraction due an abcess that has not gone away with more than 3 weeks of antibiotic treatment. At this point it's dangerous.. I'm on ODSP.. and they flat out told me that because of the type of coverage that I am they are prioritizing private insurance. We all know they pay more so it's clear what they are in business for. Absolutely disgusting.
I brought my little monkey in today for her first dental check up and have to say it made me super nervous, as she isn't always good with new people without me next to her. Doctor Navaneelan and Carla, were amazing with her and she did well. I left feeling good knowing she was made to feel comfortable. thank you so much for the caring service we got from everyone, from appointment setting to booking everything needed next.
