Dr. Cognetto and his staff is great with my 7 year old daughter....we have been going there as long as she has had teeth and they are wonderful! She actually looks forward to going to the dentist!

I had a great experience with Dr. Cognetto himself, my son liked him from the start. The only real issue I have noticed so far is how cold and somewhat rude the receptionist is. Not much personality there. Otherwise he seems great so far!

Ive always felt he was a great DDS, however, scheduling appointments has become somewhat difficult lately as it seems to take a while to get in. Additionally, like another reviewer commented, his office receptionist can definitely be cold and rude at times, no doubt about that. She has zero people skills, but, I try to ignore that and be courteous and take the high road. At times Ive been frustrated at the fact that I continually am asked to reschedule appointments months later for a cavity or extraction, as this has caused my child quite a bit of discomfort to wait that long to have a decaying tooth removed, resulting in emergency appointments and missed time from work bc we couldn't wait until the next scheduled appt due to increasing pain. Also, Dr doesnt participate with any insurance, so it's expensive for services, but, Im willing to pay the extra price for his delightful personality in working with children. He makes them comfortable, and that's worth more than any slight inconveniences we may have to endure occassionally.

I brought my 5 year old son in for a consultation because his regular dentist is not a pediatric dentist and due to the 4 cavities my son had, the regular dentist thought maybe a specialist might be a better route. I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment and waited over 45 minutes. I was not pleased to begin. Once I met with the Dr., I was told within 5 minutes of my son opening his mouth that my son would have to be admitted to St. Elizabeth's or St. Luke's (can't remember exactly), and put under anesthesia. I was shocked...these are cavities, not surgery...but Dr. Cognetto adamately claimed that my son wouldn't be able to keep his mouth open long enough. I had no clue why...he barely looked in my son's mouth. I was certainly confused...and not too excited about putting my child under for 4 cavities!! After checking with insurance, which I have BSBC, I was going to have to pay over $1000.00 for these services...I guess the hospital "stay" would have been costly, along with the fillings. I was SO close to booking because I thought this was all I could do for my son, but my gut made me call his regular dentist and ask again. Sure enough, they said sure...we can split the times, fill 2 at one time and 2 later on. Guess what?! NO PROBLEMS with my son, no reason to go to a hospital, be put under drugs, sit around and wait hours to be admitted and discharged, and $1000.00 of fees.
I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with Dr. Norman's practice and his "professional" advice. I am beyond thankful for following my motherly instinct. I will certainly NOT be recommending this practice.
